**My short-term review of the milestar Patagonia tire**

- I’ve been using the Patagonia tires on my jeep for over a week now, and I wanted to share my initial thoughts on this item.
I do some basic sand exercises, and then I take them to the rocks to do a little crawling.
I follow that up with our demolition derby that I recently entered.

I feel your pain about not wanting to bore anyone. But, rest assured that I, and many others like me, enjoy every moment of your videos! You are so competent in what you do, and seem so at ease. I live near Pismo Beach CA and got stuck in the river crossing about 25 years ago. I wish the tow company that recovered my truck had the same business ethics yours does.
My mother is from San Luis Obispo. to keep it short I went down there one summer to visit family I went to the beach and I saw a person who was stuck and I didn't realize that it was illegal for me to pull them out of the sand dunes.... The towing company that operates there with a giant Tonka trucks call the park ranger which in turn called the police and they threatened to fine me if I did it again..... I ended up pulling two other people out anyways 😂
Tom Hodge when I got stuck there were several guys watching who never helped. Anybody can tow out stuck vehicles they just can’t accept money. I’ve been going out there for years and make it a point to help out as many people as possible.

Don’t be so self continuous about it brother. Those of us that like off-roading just love watching the lifestyle. You are a cool, honest down to earth dude and that has become exceedingly rare on utube. Keep recording and we’ll keep watching. We live vicariously through you when we’re stuck at the shop/office and can’t be out there ourselves. Bought the white hat.

I watch the channel for the cool towing and cause of Matt. If it would be some other ahole know it all Im sure I would of tuned out a long time ago. Says something about Matt how humble he is and keeps channel focused on everyone else and everything else BUT himself. He never rambles on about himself, which is something all youtubers do. I learned to drive in the sand In the 80s right there long before the lake in a F250 diesel with skinny tires.

Well, you still haven't found any that makes sense. These tires are way over priced for what you get.

Nothing like a good old smash & crash Derby on a Saturday night. Especially the view at the end with the water fall n people jumping in for a cool dip after a hot race

Demo Derby's are great but I really love a Figure 8!
I have a 2000 XJ and the B2 downstream always shorts to ground. For some reason they had a great idea to have the end of the sensor sitting right against the bellhousing. It eventually breaks the wires and they short to ground.

Dont forget it helps to drop your tire pressure down a little to soften the tires up and widen the tread grip and lwt then conform to the rocks more.
Looks like your tires were a little to aired up for sand and rocks.

I've encountered more sugar sand then anything. I'm in Thonotosassa but do most of my offroading in the Ocala area.

Good job! I run them tires on my Jeep JK but 37's haven't been real off roading with them yet and the place I play down by the lake is all under water.
The derby was fun to watch, reminded me of my younger days at the drag strip with my friends old 54 ford 427. We spent hours at his dad's junk yard working on it so he could race it a few times, then back to the shop to fix it.
Great shot of toquerville falls at the end. Went there for the first time a few weeks ago after living down here almost 8 years. Roughest road I've ever driven...even more than when I've gone hunting in the mountains

It's been a long time since I saw a demolition derby.
Well,as a car restorer demo derbies make me sad.....But you had fun and kids had fun that's what counts...Yes I watched it ..and cried!!
I don't care if people use 1980's and up cars but older ones especially early 1970's and older really make me sad...
Now back of to finish repainting a 1965 Chrysler 300 2 door (very nice car,please don't use them)...It's a good friends car and a hot rod too factory 413 4bbl and a 4 speed! Car restored to stock condition and it flies!! Wish it was mine lol...

Enjoyed the sand driving lesson. I have been to Utah but didn’t have opportunity to drive in the Utah sand. The sand driving we have is on the Outer Banks of North Carolina. The Outer Banks is a sand spit with no rocks. The tire of choice for beach driving is a big car tire with a worn out tread aired down to 25 lbs. Aggressive truck treads just dig a hole toward China. I hope to revisit Utah and drive around a bit.
A few years ago I bought a used CX-9 and it came with new MileStar tires. I was like what they heck are these. I was surprised at how good and how long they lasted. Very impressed with these budget tires

I had the 33 size of those tire on my JK and was really happy with them. They never saw sand but they got through the mud pretty good and kept grip on rocks with no complaints. The treads got pretty clean under light acceleration....overall a pretty decent tire at an agreeable price point. Hope they are still working for you. IDK how I stumbled across your videos-they are unlike anything else I watch on here-but I thoroughly enjoy them. You have a great personality for this stuff dude. Keep up the great work

Bought my jeep about a month ago (91 yj) and it came with brand new 33x12.5 Patagonia tires on it. So far what I've gathered is that they do very good on sand, pretty good on rocks, very good in loose cinders, not very good in gravel, and for a mud tire very good on pavement. I have yet to try them in mud because I don't want the inside of my jeep to become brown. And I'm excited to try them in snow this winter. We'll see if they can do better than the ko2's on my truck that do insanely good in snow. Also they don't seem very durable compared too the ko2. Already have gotten some stuff loged in the tread blocks and they are already getting some mild chunking. Only time will tell with these tires

@@KingsChevyShow Big plans? Yes. The budget for my plans? No. Haha. So far the jeep just has a 4in lift and 33x12.5, front bumper, bestop seats, warn winch and some other odds and ends. Plans for the next year or so are new rear axle locked and geard, gears on the front axle, better clearence fenders, lighting upgrades, new top and probably some other little stuff. Long term it will be getting a diesel, dana 44's, around a 6in stretch, 37's and a whole pile of other things. That's pretty long term tho as I want to get my squarebody pickup built first (going to be doing engine work, coilovers, new paint etc.) And I'm still in college so I don't have the biggest budget!

hey are you planning on doing another review on those tires? I'm really interested in how they are holding up on the rocks and how you feel about the traction now that you have been using them for a while.
In conclusion, the Patagonia tires of Milestar were more STAR than MILD ... and Mr. Wetzel quickly turned Ed's derby car into a giant Pretzel 🤣🤣🤣

I don't know if anyone still makes them, but for sand and most mud, the BEST tires I ever used were the Grand Prix RVT's. I ran the 36"X 12.50 on my old Power Wagon after having a smaller set on the old Jeep Honcho and never managed to stick them bad enough I couldn't blunder my way out on my own. Just pull the magic button in the glove box, tach it up to the red line, and side step the clutch. If the clutch didn't come through the floor, you were up and out. LOL
