Is it also possible for the lead to do elevations in the Syncopated Separation just before the syncopation happens, to create a more dramatic feel? That is--rise to toes as the follower is pushed away, and then, gradually lower feet on the 5 6 7 8 as the follower comes towards leader again, just before the syncopation happens?
Yes. In technique book there is rise on 34, then stay up 5678, then drop down.
@@EgilsSmagris I also see the head turns in the syncopations themselves. Likely also done for a theatrical emphasis to that footwork. This reminds me of the head turns in the linking actions in International Tango.
