As a 19 year Neo vet, the amount of drama attached to this site sends me 😂😂.
I played Neopets in years 1&2 and then I skipped over to Marapets and never went back, I missed all of this drama lol 😆

god i remember being IN THE DISCORD at the moment all of that actually went down. i’ve been there for years now and on-and-off active in it but “i hope you live forever in poverty” / “i f%kcing hate neopets. wish i never made it because of this chat” was literally the tipping point for me to be more active in it.

The comment of his that stood out to me on Jellyneo was when someone accused him of being homophobic and his only response was "I thought I paid to have that all scrubbed from the internet" so thats. yeah. Explains a lot.

i have literally never been on neopets but im so obsessed with tuning in for the drama and stories it is so entertaining
besides the weird obsession with crypto, honestly, they seem like they just want to make something they like that stays free to use but is also supported by users who want to. He was ham fisted with some of his weird responses, but i think he might be ok with dragginz if its actually in development

I think they originally didnt plan for the site to be for children. It wasnt until the userbase turned out to be children and investors were involved that it became a very child focused site, I thought

hate to give him even the slightest chance of validation, but as someone in the industry, it's much more common than you might ever believe. this fool's yearcount is probably exaggerated for sure and it's not like I'm claiming anyone's pumping out back-to-back GOTY titles before their double digits, but I got my start in programming with Roblox (LUA at the time, i don't know what's going on with it now) at 11 personally, and probably could've made equal quality trash a couple years earlier if i found out about it earlier. a majority of the computertouchers in my circles have similar origins.

I'm sad I returned to the site AFTER this happened because it was so funny. I don't think the concept of Draginz is overall bad - blockchain technology can be useful when folks aren't being predatory.
But then NFTs, spending real world money to buy pets, flipping off the server, Midjourney use... that's all just hilarious. I love that the server just dunked on him.
is it bad that i kind of want to play that MMO he is working on? it sounds interesting xD buuuut it sucks crypto is involve in that or something. he did a AMA about it on reddit and people asked questions about the game. (he either made the sub private or he deleted it since i can't find it anymore)
Thankfully other sites like Neopets are out there, they arent anywhere as big as Neopets once was, but they're still pretty good. Waja's is one I play often.

I feel kind of bad for Donna in all this lol, this was funny enough that I watched it twice in a row though... Between this and the John Legend thing. Neopets should canonize those two events by having a Yosemite Sam-esque character based on Adam and an in-universe brand that keeps hiring weird irrelevant celebrities for endorsement deals, sinking lower and lower with each one until eventually they have to start hiring like, disgraced former child actors and stuff lmao. :P

I vote the community uses generative AI to create 100's of "poverty forever" t-shirt images with a cow theme, and sell them amongst the community as NFTs. Who's with me? I'm not even part of the the community, nor do I know how this subject matter was recommended/auto-played while I was shaving, but THIS STORY IS GOLD! So is the presentation, your narration has a great cadence and is wonderfully calming. Well played TH-cam algorithm, well played.
You can get the same thing by having an artist or digital media creator do it. Some of them are meme masters.
Though the community hates nfts so I wouldn't recommend that route but it'd be funny to sell shirts
