      How do they sound now? A couple of mine are not working.

    Great Video! I followed your instructions. Any idea why I would get Tweeter cracking when turning up the volume? It starts when I'm about 40% of the volume.

    Does the 4th gen 4Runner sr5 4WD come with the subwoofer box and amp as shown in the video ?

    How do I know if I need component or coaxial speakers? I don't have the JBL system and I'm looking to replace the stock speakers. I've already replaced the head unit a few years ago. Will 2" tweeters with a crossover work well with 5-way coaxial 6x9's in the front door? Or do I need component? Sorry for so many questions and thank you for any response!

      Did you get an answer?

      That would be way too much highs in my opinion. Most people either go one way or the other. If you decide to run a coaxial 6x9, then you would no longer use your factory tweeter. However, if you decide to run component 6x9s, you would replace the factory tweeter with the new tweeter that comes with the component set. In summary, you don't "need" one or the other for your vehicle. The choice is completely up to you.

    This is so great. Thank you! You said in a comment that the front door bottom speakers won't work without the tweeter speaker connection doesn't that mean there's a factory crossover already part of factory component system? When you added the Alpine crossover, are there now double crossovers?
    Or is the factory crossover circuitry built into the one of the OEM speakers?

    Does it matter which way you connect the crossover? With this exact setup in my 2008, the tweeters sound staticky.
    I tried attaching to the terminals on the back of the 6x9 as well and same thing.

    Curious if I’m using the factory head unit do I still need the tweeter crossover? Great video!

      Yep, always use the tweeter crossover! Protects your tweeter from unwanted frequencies, regardless of the source or radio.

    Could you give me the specifications of the tweeter please? Specifically Watts, ohm and diameter, thanks.

      No, only with the premium JBL sound system.

    You did not show which color wire from the crossover connects with the + of the tweeter connection you cut off. Also You did not show which end of the crossover wire goes to the tweeter OR which end connects to the signal coming in from the head unit.

    I’m about to upgrade my 6x9s but I think I’m gonna leave the tweeters stock for now

    Did you have to use an amp with that set up

    • @johncortez1599

      No. But it would sound better if it's amped.

    I bought some rockford fosgate components but they didnt come with crossovers. Would that be a problem?

    • @ProvoBeastAudio
      @ProvoBeastAudio  ปีที่แล้ว

      Some rockford components have integrated crossovers, just depends on which ones you have. Regardless, you need some sort of crossover or else you can risk blowing your speakers.

      Thanks for the response!
      I got a blown speaker on my 04 4runner so i went ahead and ordered some rockford fosgate components cause i was told that its better and easier than just switching out just the speakers. I guess ill just find out when they arrive.
      Thanks again

      Is it recommended to use a crossover even if they are built in to the tweeters?@@ProvoBeastAudio

    • @ProvoBeastAudio
      @ProvoBeastAudio  ปีที่แล้ว

      @rachleigh If your tweeter you are installing comes with a crossover, yes, you must install it. If the tweeter you are installing has a crossover already built into it, no an external crossover isn't needed, especially if the tweeters don't include one
