What horrible devastation but to Greta on the beach made me smile. I'd definitely be removing anything of value from your place. The flood victims in NC have had to deal with looters coming in to take what little they have left. So sad what humans are capable of. Thank you both for being so open with your feelings and sharing this experience. Praying peace and comfort over all those affected by the fires and floods.

Lamentation 3:28:30 “ when life is heavy and hard to take go off by yourself. Enter the silence. Bow in prayer. Don’t ask questions: wait for Hope to appear” everything is going to be ok, we are right behind ya’ll stay safe take care even though ya,ll don’t want to accept the reality you kinda have too because you don’t want to be in denial in real life, so I advise you to train your mindset to accept y’all situation
It's still unbelievable all this happened. You're lucky to have your stuff while many homes around you are just gone. The worst of all is, you know the people who lost everything and you feel with them. In 2002 I almost lost my home to a massive flooding. We were lucky our house was spared by inches. We lived in an old house built by clay and stones... Water would've destroyed it.

I feel so heartbroken .my brother lives in anaheim and works at Disney and it is just so sad to see so many with no homes and no future for replacing what was lost. Dog beach I grew up in Malibu my brother has a house on dog Beach. Five doors down from Dukes. He survived the fire. I pray for everybody that lost their home. I know exactly what they’re going through. I lost my house in 2007 to a wildfire. In San Diego county. I grew up in Malibu and rode my horse up and down the PCH from dog beach to the pier, La Costa beach club I hung out there many times I lived up up the hill on Paseo sierra . I have friends that lost their homes in this recent fire. I pray for everybody that lost their homes. I knew the guy that passed away across in the red house. I thank you so much for your videos. It does help when you’re driving down PCH people do not realize the destruction that is going on. It is going to take a long time to get this place cleaned up. It’s not gonna be like you’re done in a month. Stay safe pray for the people that lost their homes on big rock Topanga everywhere the Pacific Palisades all these wildfires. Hi guys thx for always showing us whats going on there its so sad to see your place so empty and the situation when your there. there are so many happy memories for me with you guys being there katies make up video, cooking videos ,spencer work out videos ,cutting his hair shaving, when you guys bought Christmas decorations and put the tree up ,ate the pink pineapple ,live videos and opening your packages the pandemic videos ,binky your surfing and playing games on the beach ,trips to blue bottle dia mores pizza and st patricks day with patrick ma gora the beanie with the beard and all the laughs so much. decorating the balcony with the tikis so i am hoping along with you that it gets back to normal been with you guys so many places so yes think of joy and happiness and smelling the ocean is so healing and washes away bad energy and brings in the new cleansing healing energy for sure that is my happy healing place where i recharge nothing weird about that guys i feel it to and can relate big time thx for the video guys love you 😍 ❤
I worked the 2007 fires in Rancho Bernardo (San Diego) and remember seeing burning palm fronds flying across the night sky. These were responsible for many of the structure fires there. Hang tight!

Hi Katie and Spencer. Thank you for sharing with us on your Malibu apartment. We have driven on that road many times when we have come up from San Diego to visit friends. We wanted to tell you that you Home blogs keep us going. I worked through that mess and when I would get home from work. My husband and I used to watch you and it really helped me through that tuff time. Your walks on the beach with Binki and that great ocean was good way for me to relax after a crazy day at work. Thank you for that. We are very glad that your place was spared. It really hard for you to go back but it’s nice that you got to see some of your neighbors. Thanks for posting. With the amount of clearance and reconstruction work that has to be done, it makes sense to keep that stretch of the PCH closed for a long time. The organisation provided by fire/police/Red Cross etc. is wonderful, thanks go to them. I hope there won't be too many landslides, but the top layer of soil/ash will be so unstable, plus there will be huge runoff as the earth under that is too dry to take any moisture. Definitely wear your masks as my friends Dad was a fire assessor for years, and the exposure to the toxins caused his dementia ❤ it’s years later the exposure comes out! Take care both xxx
Also, I enjoy your Vegas videos too. My sister was a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Management in the NICU Valley Hospital, Las Vegas. We’d go to the where the locals hang out at the casinos in their neighborhoods. We did the Hoover Dam tour on a very hot day and enjoyed our time together. She had been in the first Gulf War under Papa Bush stationed in a tent hospital 10 miles from the front. First in and last to leave, a year of hell! She died from lung CA metastasis to brain and many other areas in her body, fought it through the VA txt at Fresno, VA. Her memories go with me when you are in Vegas. Growing up we’d go the Solvang for Andersen Split Pea soup at their now closed restaurant, we were just kids. So many places you go have been my childhood experiences. So, TY for your vids and travels. Praying for everyone in the fire areas and my heart aches. 💔

I’m so very sorry. I’ve learned that a high school and husband friend lost everything in Malibu. They have their dogs and a bag of clothes. She thought it was just an evacuation like they’ve done so many times. I sit here and imagine all that is around me gone. And the neighborhood gone. It is unimaginable. God bless.

Having grown up in Santa Barbara, LA ( Sunland/Tujunga) Verdugo Hills HS along Foothills Blvd., drive onto Glendale, through to Disneyland, it is overwhelming to see my past home communities facing these fires. Even the Grapevine fire is ghastly. I went to Girls Scout Summer Camp at Frazier Park. I’m 76 now and my memories are clearly there with you. Learning to surf along the CA coast in the early 1960-1964, it was an amazing time to grow up. We had fires back then too, but not so much urban sprawl that destroyed like we see now. Palisades Park was a song. Who could have known? Hang in there, literally! 🤙

So poignant to say 'I want to choose a good attitude, but I really can't because of everything going on.' With such a tragedy, how does one 'choose' happiness, cheerfulness, etc. The 'choose' theory that permeated for so long can minimize reality and hard times, per se. Of course, everyone would rather be happy in general. Thanks for bringing this up because it became a 'guilt trip' to not be able to 'choose' happiness all the time. Hoping all works out even better in the long run and hope everyone can rebuild with as much aid and insurance as possible. 🙏

I totally get why you love Malibu! The ocean is gorgeous🥰🥰 I would love to live there. I feel so bad for you guys and everyone else who has been affected by the fires. What a disaster. Gavin Newsom & Karen Bass are to blame for this whole mess. Now that Trump is in office, I'm hoping that he can make some changes with the water situation in So. California and get things back on track. But it's probably going to be years to rebuild. So it's not going to be pretty for a long time😞😞

I have been all over the USA but now that I'm older, the Northeast is where I stay! We have beautiful sunsets here too! If I want a beachy vibe, I'll go VISIT down in Florida. It's beautiful but not worth living there. If you guys were smart, you're better off leaving California, while you're 2 steps ahead! Before a major earthquake hits next! I hope you're right about the rebuild response being swift. There have been only 3 homes rebuilt in Maui in the last 18 months

Also, I enjoy your Vegas videos too. My sister was a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Management in the NICU Valley Hospital, Las Vegas. We’d go to the where the locals hang out at the casinos in their neighborhoods. We did the Hoover Dam tour on a very hot day and enjoyed our time together. She had been in the first Gulf War under Papa Bush stationed in a tent hospital 10 miles from the front. First in and last to leave, a year of hell! She died from lung CA metastasis to brain and many other areas in her body, fought it through the VA txt at Fresno, VA. Her memories go with me when you are in Vegas. Growing up we’d go the Solvang for Andersen Split Pea soup at their now closed restaurant, we were just kids. So many places you go have been my childhood experiences. So, TY for your vids and travels. Praying for everyone in the fire areas and my heart aches. 💔

I’m so very sorry. I’ve learned that a high school and husband friend lost everything in Malibu. They have their dogs and a bag of clothes. She thought it was just an evacuation like they’ve done so many times. I sit here and imagine all that is around me gone. And the neighborhood gone. It is unimaginable. God bless.
What your seeing is like a terrible movie & your mind can only take in so much at one time. Thank you so much for sharing the updates. Our hearts & prayers are with everyone affected. Its so unsettling not knowing the future but all you can do is take it one day at a time! The community seems to have a Strong will to come together.

Having grown up in Santa Barbara, LA ( Sunland/Tujunga) Verdugo Hills HS along Foothills Blvd., drive onto Glendale, through to Disneyland, it is overwhelming to see my past home communities facing these fires. Even the Grapevine fire is ghastly. I went to Girls Scout Summer Camp at Frazier Park. I’m 76 now and my memories are clearly there with you. Learning to surf along the CA coast in the early 1960-1964, it was an amazing time to grow up. We had fires back then too, but not so much urban sprawl that destroyed like we see now. Palisades Park was a song. Who could have known? Hang in there, literally! 🤙

Go to Lily’s at Pointe Dume Plaza!! Lily’s has the BEST tacos, and burritos!! ALL Malibu locals know about Lily’s!! Also, she survived cancer!! Such a great lady, great little restaurant!!

What made you decide to get another dog?
So poignant to say 'I want to choose a good attitude, but I really can't because of everything going on.' With such a tragedy, how does one 'choose' happiness, cheerfulness, etc. The 'choose' theory that permeated for so long can minimize reality and hard times, per se. Of course, everyone would rather be happy in general. Thanks for bringing this up because it became a 'guilt trip' to not be able to 'choose' happiness all the time. Hoping all works out even better in the long run and hope everyone can rebuild with as much aid and insurance as possible. 🙏

I totally get why you love Malibu! The ocean is gorgeous🥰🥰 I would love to live there. I feel so bad for you guys and everyone else who has been affected by the fires. What a disaster. Gavin Newsom & Karen Bass are to blame for this whole mess. Now that Trump is in office, I'm hoping that he can make some changes with the water situation in So. California and get things back on track. But it's probably going to be years to rebuild. So it's not going to be pretty for a long time😞😞

🔴🔴🔴 I'm happy for both of you, BUT I think you guys are crazy to want to stay in California! I was born and raised in New York and will stay here for the rest of my life! I HATE the west coast. I have been all over the USA but now that I'm older, the Northeast is where I stay! We have beautiful sunsets here too! If I want a beachy vibe, I'll go VISIT down in Florida.
