This made me so happy! I got into theme parks as a kid because of the “abandoned” theme park attraction videos, like those from Adam the Woo etc. this made me very nostalgic
Very cool video idea dude !! Just found your channel and I have a feeling the algorithm will love this one :) keep it up Would love for someone to explore the fear factor stage
I know for myself there's a lot of nostalgia fuelling my desire for these attractions to come back, but I wish they'd do *something* - it's frustrating how much of the park has just...closed without replacements for years. Really hoping that after Epic Universe opens they start announcing replacements for... the entirety of the Lost Continent and hopefully more. IoA is a great park but it could really use a big show given all of them have closed - Universal Creative has some incredibly talented people working there (look at Bourne!) and it'd be wonderful to see them bring some more life back to these abandoned theatres.
Both Sinbad and Fear Factor shows needed dozens (up to 100) employees to do the show, support the show, and provide safety operations for the stunts. I heard a podcast with former Fear Factor lead manager, and in final years they had to use team members (not guests) to have enough people to do the show. Roughly (a guess) about $6-8 million dollars per year operating costs.
@@ericstratten5653 Oh no doubt they weren't cheap shows to run - any show is going to have major costs but when you're running such a popular and well regarded park it's a bit sad to have such little entertainment. Sinbad and Fear Factor were probably not popular enough towards the end of their runs - they were quite old after all. Just hoping they can find something new that can perhaps be run a bit cheaper.
@ Yea hopefully they can find a happy medium. IOA is a World Class Park who charges a ton of money and has World Class rides. It should have a World Class show. Like how their sister/competitors have Bourne, Indiana Jones, Waterworld etc.
Thank you so much for this video i though that we'd seen everything in the parks but you have shown us something we had overlooked. Can't wait until the June meetup to go exploring a place we haven't seen before
Yes remember the magic show at Universal Studios, saw it in 2012, think it was only 15 minutes long or so and yes definitely made with a view to selling magic tricks after it, got stung with thatt one 😊
Maybe with epic universe wrapping up its construction, now universal can start spreading the love to some of the original parks. Just gotta wait and see. Thanks for the video.
Its so strange walking past the Lost World section but its still sorta kept well enough so I dont think they want to bother until they get an expansion. Also IOA should utilize that water area with either a retturn of a boat or maybe a water show.
It seems like there is so much space within Islands of Adventure. You highlight three huge buildings/areas - two of which are kind of connected with only a back road in between. If Universal ever wanted to redo these three areas with awesome rides, then geez it would make IOA one of the best parks in North America (with all due respect to Epic U, which looks like it will top them all).
Honestly, given the large number of abandoned theatres in both parks, I'm surprised they haven't used one for the 35-minute cut of Wicked. Heck, they could even perform the first act of the show at the old Blue Man Group/Nickelodeon theater if they wanted to charge.
Another great video, Vincent! You’re uploading more, hopefully this continues 😊 Have you heard anything around Universal Premier Hotels (Portifino, Hard Rock, Pacific) being eligible for FastPass at Epic Universe? Or any updates on that?
I found on channel "Ripsaw Fall Adventures" even more cool video of Island Boat Tours. I had been looking for it for awhile. Wild video of the back porch of the Enchanted Oak Tavern. You can see how some of it stayed through the changeover to Hogshead Tavern/Three Broomsticks
If the rumors are true about the Lost content being transformed to The Legend of Zelda land, I would be in heaven so much Let's hope Universal expands Super Nintendo worlds to other parks like the wizarding world does
I'm hoping for Legend of Zelda as well but wouldn't mind seeing the Lord of the Rings there either, another rumored IP that could go there. Or Pokemon, but I'd rather see Pokemon replace the Simpsons area at the other park, that wall all three Universal Orlando can have a Nintendo franchise - Epic gets Mario, Islands gets Zelda, and Studios gets Pokemon.
I always thought the HHN show could be moved to the Blue Man building and the Fear Factor theater be used for some sort of expansion. It's not an insignificant amount of land and it sits empty 90% of the year, so I'm surprised Universal hasn't found a work around for it yet.
Very sad about Poseidon's Fury stopping. The tour guides put in so much effort to sell the story and the effects were awesome!
If they could just retheme the show to Zelda Tears of the kingdom show then it would be great
I wonder if they still have the boats from Jaws ride
Awesome video Vincent 👍

I’m so glad you mentioned the magic show!! I saw the one at IOA once when I was a little kid and it’s such a core memory for me.
Such a great video ! Brought back a lot of memories for me 😍

Super well-made video! New subscriber!
Love your videos Vincent! Can’t wait for your coverage of Epic. Wachow!✨

agreed. A show also would help greatly with crowds.

It’s strange for me to do, but I always visit the Sindbad theater when I’m visiting IOA

Imagine checking out the nickelodeon studios, and 10 years later you get banned for life
What? How that happen?

I have the classic Nintendo and I’ve been playing Zelda! I hope that happens. 😊

It’s a shame lost continent has been abandoned for quite sometime. I enjoyed Poseidon’s fury as cheesy as it was.
I’ve gone to Universal since they opened. Funny how things become a faded memory.
I think they should build a roller coaster at poseidons fury
Not really enough room for that. I think they'll combine the Poseidon's Fury and Sinbad areas for a new Zelda dark ride.
Adam The Woo Williams was banned from Universal after sneaking into abandoned Nickelodeon Studios section of the park!😮
I know history’s
Got to experience poseidons fury in 2022 for the first and only time before it closed the following year the host worked his **s off.
