The Canucks currently have the most cap space along Canadian NHL teams. TBD will be how many pending free agents they’ll manage to keep particularly pending:
- restricted FAs with arbitration rights
- unrestricted FAs

I didn’t know Chatfield re-signed already. We had him in our system & let him go. But he would have been a good addition. RHD too!
Yes more 5-6 D is what this team needs
They should be pushing Soucy / Myers to bottom pairing where they belong not looking to get more 5/6 mediocre D’s
The only free agent D they should keep is Zadorov.
Him and Soucy can fight it out for second pair minutes.
RD is a joke, Hronek looked really good with Hughes feeding him assists, not so good when games mattered.

Chara knew how to use his reach when defending, when he wasn’t pasting guts to the boards or dropping the gloves. Myers is soft, doesn’t know how or when to hit. Just ended that albatross of a contract and people want over-sign him? Why cuz he has 5 good games a year of because Soucy was the one actually playing Defense beside him…

I never like trading 1st round picks but getting JT Miller for a 1st was a great move for us.
I wish we had a 1st rounder this season though.
