@@Wanderingwalker-ke6mg can confirm that that is a myth, as all 15 daedric quests have at least one outcome that leads to getting one of the 15 points you need. Also you need to get the achievement in a single playthrough anyway, as I personally have done all the daedric quest and gotten all the endings for them, however never done them all on a single character. which unfortunately means that you need to do all 15 quests the right way on one character or fourteen of them the right way and then screw hircine out of two artifacts.

He wants the dagger in the world, causing mayhem. Take the dagger and either never use it or only use it for good. That would piss him off even more. If not in your hands, someone else will eventually wield it.
Take the dagger, become imortal, keep it in your pocket, never use it, never give it away, and you got yourself a very pissed of prince. It would be a failure because he gave his weapon to the worst person he could've given it to.
The answer to "Should you take this powerful artifact?" is always "yes." Even if its just to keep it out of the hands of other people. These toys are *FAR* too much for anyone else in these fantasy worlds.

You could kill him before going to the shrine, take the fragments, then you're the only person in tamriel who knows where they are. Then you drop them in the ocean or something

Jay Peterson i know but i get anxiety cause early on in the gameplay the Lod blacksmith from Falkreath was killed by a dragon and then later i was having trouble helping citizens to become Thane and when i googled it turns out “becoming thane of Falkreath is almost impossible if Lod the blacksmith is dead” 😅 i ended up having to level my speech to like 70 so i could invest in the general store before i was able to become Thane and buy Lakeview manor 🤦🏻♂️ BUT it worked out it was just a HUGE pain in the ass
I've felt the same way since the Morrowind playthrough in which I cut myself off from getting Goldbrand by killing the orc in the Caldera room with the orcish armour... only to find out on a different playthrough that if you just take it, he'll yell at you but not report or attack you anyway.
the alchemist in me actually like hanging around Morthal :p or more specifically the marsh north of the town... deathbells, swamp fungal pods, random mushrooms, river betty and other fish, canis root - pretty much everything you need ;)

TBH, even a good character might kill Sylas just because he is trying to recreate a weapon that is a harbringer of doom. Sure you are helping him, but why not just finish making it and then use it to deal with the dragonpocalypse and then put it somewhere where it will never be used again. Remove a dangerous artifact and the only person interested in having it at the time so he doesn't get manipulated by the daedra into going on a murder spree or something.
It's the dual wield power attack. If you press both triggers you attack with both weapons at the same time, if you hold them down you do a dual wield power attack. If you sneak you can get in 3 power attacks using this. Combined with perks and equipment you can get x30 sneak damage, or x90 if you do the three hit power attack.

Heya James, many thanks for the video. Mehrunes Razor, although questionable in its effectiveness, is one dagger I never pass up. I think the only Daedric artifact I don't bother with is the skull of corruption. It seems useless and I think Erandur is much more valuable. In the 7 years I've been playing this game, I've never attained the oblivion walker achievement because I don't kill Erandur.
I think it would've been a better deal if you could have Silus as a follower after you spare him, kinda like how you get that one dark elf (I forget his name) as a follower when you help him destroy the skull of corruption.

I got the Dagger in Oblivion and it carried me through everything. Had it's effect proc even on Jyggalag at the end of the Shivering Isles on the first hit, it was great.
I don’t know if Miraak being immune to the dagger is in the code or not, but he’s essential, even when you fight him, so I don’t think it matters. (You can’t use the razor on the Tsun fight for example)

you can go through this entire long dungeon fighting endless enemies .... or just walk around straight to the top and kill the hagraven and walk away lol

I let him live because this character is defiant and he did like that the dedric god threatened him... also he is two handed berserker build so I have no use for a puny dagger

Not worth the time and energy and often require unsavory actions. No thanks, I'm good.

However, on another playthrough, I did take the Razor and I found it to be horrible. Never got a OHKO and if I did, the target was probably already close to death plus I was also relying on the Sanguine Rose to help me out in combat. Any other time I did the quest, I spared Silus and proceeded to Fus Ro Dah the Dremora Lords off the cliff.

If you don't kill Silus the dremora Dagon Summons probably will so you might as well take the razor.
