Good video. I grew up and lived there in the very early 80's to the late 90's before shipping off to the military. As far as no things to do and driving to Burleson, I'll take that any day. Don't complain or list a 5 minute drive as a con. Some places you have to drive anywhere between 2.5 to 3.5 hours to go do things you normally do in a big city. So be thankful for a very short drive. I'll give you the traffic on 35 (was that way when I was kid back then as well and when my mom grew up there in the 40's, 50's & 60's). We called it job security with all the construction they are constantly doing on 35 to this day! Not too worried about the property tax. I'll take that over state tax any day, especially for a small business gross receipts twice a year on top of federal filings! I still remember when you drove to the south end of Hulen St just past Sycamore School Road and stop at Columbus Trail and you could only go left or right and it didn't lead the Chisholm Trail Parkway didn't exist back then) that is where the county line was more or less. Noting but back roads to Crowley from there. Not like it is now. It was all open land back then. I'd still prefer to live there even with some of the cons you have listed. No need for me to worry about the schools anymore. Crowley, Burleson and Everman were small towns and you could use the back roads to get to all of them without even going on the freeway. I am wanting to move back sometime soon and would rather be in Crowley, Burleson or Joshua. Southwest Fort Worth has gotten to expensive for me. Won't even consider moving to Arlington, HEB or Dallas. But the only thing we want that is non negotiable. I will not live in an HOA. My money, property I live how I want. After living in base housing in the military and not being able to do what I wanted. I refuse to be told how to keep my house. If I want to paint it a crazy color. Then I can.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts and memories about Crowley! It’s great to hear how much you value the area. If you're looking to move back to Crowley, Burleson, or Joshua and want to avoid dealing with an HOA, let us know-we’d be happy to help you find the perfect home that fits your needs!
We signed a contract to purchase a newly constructed house from a builder, hopefully we’ll move to Crowley in January 2025. We couldn’t find any houses anywhere in DFW, so we chose Crowley! Property taxes is indeed a big problem 🤞
IMO Pros: 1. Location (within 20 minutes of everything Burleson has to offer and downtown FW) 2. Small town feel 3. Cost of living Cons: 1. Traffic 2. Property taxes 3. Schools
Hello my husband and I actually went to check out the area the other day....sorry to say, it was a bit disappointment.. some roads were so so bad, I would get anxious if I had to drive around every day...not just Crowley though..
@@thedfwhomeowner We liked White Settlement area, but there are barely any houses for sale..we prefer Fort Worth side, but we might look into Forney or Princeton before they will be too crowded too..

That's fair. What other cities are on your lineup?

@@snowberrypie9764 Have you tried Saginaw yet? That'll keep you on this side of the DFW.
