How I wish I could live in an apartment / flat where the different bands march pass by everyday. Yes, it is addictive watching so many fine military bands playing such uplifting good music.
The drum major of the Coldstream band is DM Ben Roberts, CG who has just been appointed Senior Drum Major, Household Division. (with thanks to Troopingadmin & CeremonyConnoisseur).
If you look closely you will see that the Coldstreamers are always in step to the music, if arbuckle has dubbed to his film then he has incredible talent - sign him up BBC! This is real stirring material, anyone like me who has marched in a band cannot help but go left right left - a great pity that the "Hiawatha Police Force" in their high viz kit cannot march in step! I certainly could never do anything else but be in step!!!! GOOD EFFORT MATE!
I've had that problem as well. It will just stay there. Marches are not (to my knowledge) that highly tracked down as pop music is. I've just let them be without any troubles, and know more friends who've done the same. Nothing has happened. Just a "warning". I'm playing the drums in the Swedish Royal Home Guard band in your videos, by the way :) Thank you for uploading!
They're not there to protect the band from the public, they're there to protect the public from the band. The band won't stop if someone drifts out from the crowd.
would be nice to see more of the guard than the band all the time you can hear the band but lets see the troops a bit more, keep up the good work.I was in the old barracks in 1957/8. Is Battalion Scot Guards.
I've never had that problem and I find strange that anybody should claim any copyrights for a video, shot by yourself, of a public ceremony. If you're concerned of the consequences, perhaps you should contact directly those who make the claim, or TH-cam. Thank you for your kind comments, by the way.
@paulgarnham60 Thank you very much. It is indeed, for someone my age and weight, quite an achievement to keep up with a bunch of boys and girls walking and playing their instruments effortlessly on their way up to the castle. Rather depressing. About the Blues and Royals, I don’t know if I’m ready to compare qualities with the coldstreamers, because that’s an exceptional band, but I admire and enjoy the Blues and Royals enormously and I agree with you that they’re excellent too.
On March 18, 1937, our school in New London, Texas exploded killing more then 300 students and teachers. In the mid to late 1940's, the Coldstream Guards came to our school and performed in the gymnasium. I wondered why a band from England would come to a town with a population of less then 1000 to perform. It was because England wanted to do something for the town. It was so exciting. We had never seen anything like that before. I am of Scottish descent and was in the Elementary school.
I like military music and I made some video's from bands at the 4days marches tattoo 2012 in Wijchen the Netherlands. But I got copyright warnings from youtube. I removed some video's and cut them, until there remains only 30 sec. of the marches, except one. Then I upload again. When you are lucky, the march is free from copyrights. but I have still 4 warnings. How do you solve this problem?
@jadesmith I don't believe you guys wear this exact uniform because there is only one band in the US that wears the tunics that are made in England. The Liberty High School Grenadier Band is the only ones that have permission to wear these uniforms in the states so you might have something similar but not exact to the guards across the pond. The band has permission from the queen. If I remember correctly your C of D has more maroon then red tunics.
I don't want to sound off subject here - very nice video and all that - but who the hell "designed" those alleged buildings to the right of shot at around 0.40s? I mean they are hideous. How does anyone get a building as ugly as that passed for construction in an historic town like Windsor?? Only in England. I could do better than that after 15 gin and tonics and left alone in a dark room with a crayon and a piece of parchment. Architects my left titty.
Some of the best sound I've heard on TH-cam. I mean your recording quality not
only the band. Congratulations.
This makes me shiver, such an amazing band!
Thank you so much for doing this for us we all do enjoy beautiful music may God bless you. The British military band's are just so incredible !!!
