Congrats! Air-cooled 911s will always have a special place in my heart. I'm just bummed I didn't pick one up before the whole Magnus Walker popularization/price boom. I remember seeing these in the low teens and now they're up there with modern Porsche prices 🙃
Its actually a great time buy right now. I think all private seller used car prices are on the decline right now (I ended up selling my Skyline at auction for $5k less than what I thought I'd get)
@@CMAutohaus makes sense since most people finance and interest rates are so high. I’ve been keeping my eye on some newer cars like the Type R and dealers are sitting on inventory for longer (markups still present though 🤦♂️). Private party sellers are stuck waiting for cash buyers whereas before folks would take out an easy auto loan.
Wow can’t believe I missed this. Stoked to see you got a G series. Wild to see the car seems to have been lifted from the oil cooler lines! I’ll have to get over to one of the EASY meet ups.
Congrats on the classic 911! She's older than me and you :) Are you going to ask Nakai-san to come over and do you up a custom RWB kit?? Hehe ;) Perhaps, when she's all done up and nothing else needs to be replaced, call up Magnus and ask him to feature your 911 on OPP :)
Got an 87 911 slant nose that's been sitting for years and this video definitely gave me a lot of things to add to the "To Do" list aside from the dreaded oil leaks... Can't wait to see what you have in store for this beauty!
God speed sir! Slant noses are apparently "undesirable," but I think they are rad AF. Fashions also change with time: apparently the ae86 Levin was the undesirable base model when it came out, NOW apparently in Japan, the Levin is the more desirable model.
Congrats 🎉 the more complex new cars keep getting (referring your other video) the more i want to return to simplicity of the old air cooled Porsche. Maybe it had a Speedo swap/repair which rolled it back. 3.2L was enjoyable, enough power to have fun, extract good sound from engine without risking jail or impound.
Congrats on the purchase! You are def the right owner for this car! Something about the compression and leakdown doesn't add up. Such drastic of a leakdown result on #6 has to be accompanied by somewhat poor compression test performance (-10 to 20%). Don't you think so?
Thanks for the kind words! I've seen valve leaks get masked by "good" compression test numbers before. Althought cyl #6 is worth retesting in cause something was sticking (car has sat for the past 3 years) or I made a error.
Hey Ezekiel, I'm happy to see how far you've come! I'll miss the Skyline. However, if its worth selling for anything, it'd be a Porsche. I still have my GT86, although I hope to own a Euro Classic myself someday. You never know! Happy Holidays!
sounds like that Porsche community just picked up a huge asset with you taking an interest in that car.
Concrats, man! Living the dream..

Great content, well-spoken, and you're talking about Porsche. Great job!
Much appreciated!

The twice JB weld repaired gas tank sprung a leak while I was in Japan last week - that accurately describes the maintenance history of the car lol
@@CMAutohaus Dayum! Lol.

Palo Alto Speedo (Hartmut) gave my 928 speedo back broken and then gave me attitude
lol
I had a good experience. Service was quick. Pricing was fair. Got my speedo back in much better shape than before - clean and glass face was polished
Hwy 280 playing Prince purple rain. Nothing better
Im more of a Hall and Oates guy.
