great video!! helped me understand a lot of things. One question though, towards the end of the video, you mentioned about syncing contacts. Do you have a video about it?
So glad you liked it! Thanks for writing. Unfortunately, we don't have a video on synching contacts. But we have other Outlook ones here: th-cam.com/play/PLWSweFpA2PEgv_Op8-aGfavS5c4SBzL11.html
Thanks! Someone else has asked this recently as well. I think you would need an intermediary that could be on your phone. Maybe the mobile Outlook app would allow you to sync your contacts on your phone and then your Outlook app would sync with your pc? Not 100% sure, but something to look into as a starting point at least.
I can't say it enough....please, please, please slow down your speech a bit for those who are maybe older or just very new at this type of thing. Great information, but a little slower, please.
Some of us, or rater 90% of us, have english as our second language. Do your want us to follow you, then speak slow, and never never never put annoying muzak to overdub the speech. Thats really a no go. 🇺🇦😎
Hi Gene. Thanks for the question. So the answer is possibly. Lots of things to check in your settings to make that happen. If you have the mobile app for Outlook, try going there first and go to Settings in Outlook and there should be a slider for Sync Contacts. Turn that on. If you are using the same microsoft account on your phone and PC, you may have to use the Outlook app as an intermediary because your PC doesn't really have a way to communicate with your phone directly. I would try to start there.
Thank you for this. It was very helpful. How can I ask you a question regarding calendar view ? My calendar used to show 2 appointments (on the monthly view)... and now something has changed.. , and now it doesn't show the names of the meetings... instead it now shows this..... +2 How can I change it back?
Hi. Glad you liked the video and thanks for the question. It is most likely a change in settings. If you go to File|Options, and then select Calendar on the left you can see all the changes you can make for meetings. If you need further help, please contact our consulting services at www.myexcelonline.com/microsoft-excel-consulting-services/
There is a free version online with office.com but if you want more functionality, then you do need to buy the full version that comes with Office 365.
To Create a microsoft account or to link an existing account to my account, I have to click on "File" . But the word "file" is not on the top of my screen. The words "Home Send/Receive View Help" are not there either. What do I do?
I don't have the same menu options as in the tutorial, I only have format, insert, draw, and options. How do I get the rest of the menus? Thank you in advance.
I can't stand the new Outlook and would close my account if it wasn't for the fact so many have my email address. Like many I just want what I have always had - namely the basics such as opening emails, deleting emails and composing a new email. The latter two with 365 are not so straightforward. This is the kind of thing which the head of my college used to call "frills and fancies" - meaning unnecessary add ons.
You are right, there are definite benefits to the simpler Office of the 90s. But then sometimes there is something that is so much better. For example, XLOOKUP in Excel is way better than anything from back then. I think there are pros and cons to both. It would be nice if Microsoft released a more simplistic version AND one with more functionality. But I guess that is harder to maintain.
Thanks for the feedback. We have tried to do more of that in videos since this one. If you wanted to listen again, you could listed an 1/2 speed if that helps.
Yes, this one was edited to be too fast. Sorry about that! We have tried to slow down all of our other videos. You can watch this one on half speed with the TH-cam controls.
So...Ok have used outlook 2010 for a long time...very buggy and difficult. It's always a nightmare trying to get gmail configured etc. OK..so new computer, Win 11...trying to move the many sub-folders with many receipts and codes saved...nightmare. Microsoft support, a joke. Now the new outlook with office 360 or whatever it is...it is deleting emails, things in folders and it seems to be deleting everything from gmail online. Spent a couple of hours with Microsoft support and no deal. They are supposed to call tonight for more support...I am sick of support. All I want is a stand alone program that will access gmail, not delete anything and be stable. Don't need a bloated program that is useless to somebody in the arts. 2010 won't work on Windows 11. Do you have any suggestions as to how to find an outlook that will work simply and cleanly with no bloat or endless problems?
Hi. Thanks for the message. So you want to access gmail but not delete anything from gmail, kind of a read only access to gmail? You could look at IMAP vs POP3 set up for your linked account, but that may only be for keeping mail in Outlook and not gmail, the opposite of what I think you are asking for, is that correct? You could also look at Outlook Express and see what options you have there as it is a simpler version of Outlook. Or maybe try using outlook.com? Let me know if we can help any further.
Hi Markie Polo, In Gmail in the upper right click the Settings gear, choose See All Settings. Next screen along the top click Forwarding and POP/IMAP. In that screen you can choose how you want your Gmail sent to Outlook and if you want it deleted from Gmail or not. The good news is your Gmail sent to Outlook does not need to be deleted from Gmail. Truly, I hope the above helps you. A side note: In your sentences those three dots, called ellipses, indicate something at that location in the sentence was left out or missing. Ellipsis comes from Greek meaning omission. In your sentences at the ellipses, I do not see where you left anything out, thus the proper punctuation could be a comma.
Fantastic! So clear and so perfectly explained and with visual examples, which helps so much. thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it!
your video is straight to the point thanks.

Thanks! Someone else has asked this recently as well. I think you would need an intermediary that could be on your phone. Thanks! And thanks for watching.
Great video, but please put a compressor on the voice track, the dynamics are a bit tiring after a few minutes!
Thanks for the feedback. We have upgraded our mic since then.
I don't have the same menu options as in the tutorial, I only have format, insert, draw, and options. How do I get the rest of the menus? Thank you in advance.
Are you using Office 365? Online version or desktop version? We are using both 365 and the desktop version in this tutorial.
Wow you talk very quickly! 🙂
Hey thanks for your feedback!
When I moved "deleted" file to go under Favorites, it moved but also copies itself. Can I delete the original location?
It depends on whether it is the built in deleted folder or a copy of it. If the copy, then yes, you can delete that one. Thanks for the question!
I am interested in your Outlook courses 2022 please

How to use Outlook for Cold Email Marketing?
Hi. Thanks for the request. What are you thinking for a process for cold email marketing?

Slow down your delivery.

Maybe slow down speaking speed.
Thanks for the feedback. We have tried to do more of that in videos since this one. If you wanted to listen again, you could listed an 1/2 speed if that helps.

Oh, under settings for speed. Thxs.
Glad you found it!
