How long does it take to charge your phone? Also, if you need to recharge the charger how long it takes? I’m asking because Amazon has some other options much cheaper however one thing that people complain about is that it takes 2 days to recharge the charger.
I don't have the charger anymore to test. I never did a 0-100% for the phone, so I can't say. The Tesla charger will obviously be more money. Amazon options will probably give more bang for the buck - however, I don't know of any that can charge and provide a charge wirelessly.
why tesla decided that having to press buttons on the charger to activate charging is beyond me. Why not just do it when a device is connected like every other battery bank. Having to hold the button for 3 seconds every time you want to charge it is silly and defeats the purpose of wireless charging as a convenience feature. Like bi-directional wireless charging battery banks are not super common, and that form factor for that price for those features and capacity is pretty bloody good, yet they have to go and bollocks it up with some dumass decision
Mine has been dead for days, I still can't get the damned thing to charge. I've tried USB Hubs, iPhone bricks, powered USB's on PC,s and this piece of crap will not charge. what the hell am i doing wrong??????????????????
If you are not using the wireless charging, you could pop out the cable and insert a USB-A to Lightning Cable. The USB-C port on the right side is the input port to charge the charger.
Some suggestions to try: 1) use a different cable to charge, 2) charge it by placing on The wireless charger in the car. If neither works, contact Tesla for a replacement.
Hi could you help me with a question. Are the USB-C output port working direct to ie charge a Ipad Pro? I tried with my and a Apple Usb-c cable - but I do not get any power. If I use the Tesla cable it will work. I wonder if it is something wrong with my USB-C port. Have send e-mail to Tesla support but no answer. Thanks Choke
I charged an iPad Air 4, with the USB C cable. The iPad Pro should work too - unless it requires more than the battery pack can deliver. Do you have any other USB C devices? Try them to make sure the cable is functional. I'll let you know if I find out more.
IIUC, the usb-c port is for charging the charger. It's input only. The usb-a port is for charging your phone from the charger. It's output only. This way the provided usb-a to usb-c cable works for both input and output. It's very clever but it can be confusing.
I have two of these units, a black one and a blue one. They are terrible! They do poor wireless charging only. I can not get them to send power out of the units to charge my wired phone. I have tested the cord, it is not the problem.
can someone please help me with charging this thing? I've tried 100 different ways, and have held the power button before trying to charge and the lights just go out and it stays dead. Do you plug the USB-A (big one) in to a brick to charge it? If so, I must be braindead because it's just not working at all. I'm really frustrated at this point (if that's not obvious >:| )
If you are asking about charging the battery in the portable charger, see 5:00. Yes, plug the USB-A part of the cable into a USB charging brick. You should then see the LED light blinking showing that it is charging. The one I used in the video is 1.5A. What size are you using?
@@MTNRanger thanks for the quick reply. I tried using an Apple brick (5v @ 1amp) and two separate powered USB ports on two different computers (not sure of the voltage/amps). when plugging the USB-A into the brick the lights do not automatically come on. I tried pushing and, separately, holding the power button but all the lights go off after about 30 seconds, and the device does not appear to charge itself.
@@noobcaekk I'm not sure what is going on. It should start charging without pressing anything. Have you tried charging it in the car on the wireless charging pad? I'm trying to figure out if it's the input port not working.
@@MTNRanger i would, if i had a Tesla car LOL. unfortunately, I don't have another wireless charger to test it on. I did test the USB-C side and it is charging devices as intended. but I just can't get the bank itself to charge.. : (
@@MTNRanger got it to charge. something about the two outlets I was using wasn't working? still doesn't make sense to me, but plugging the same iPhone brick into a surge protector charges the battery pack. i had tried two extension cords and two separate outlets, still no clue what the issue was, but glad it charged and is not defective!
I always used a China poerbank the common with qi in and out + usb A and micro and C to charge the bank, So 3 ways to charge the bank and 2 ways to charge the phone. But badsicly this 9,99, China powerbank ,qi stone and this charger are I think the only devices on the world who can do this. All other only have qi in or qi out Mine is pretty broke tho , my qi out have stoppen charging normally, same as my alarm clock I think 🤔 Wtf yo....The led protector is also off and the usb c only charger the bank, So I think it's time for some replacement here.
@@richardhall-trafford8653 Like I said there are so many variables, there is no one answer. Charging wirelessly would be just like charging your phone on other wireless chargers. It's not as fast as plugging in.
It arrived today, thanks for the instructions because alone I would never have understood all the features. Thank you
Thanks. Even I had to read the instructions and I'm usually pretty good with electronics!
Thank you so much for your post! Could not figure out what to do with this gift! Now I can use it anywhere! Thank you again!
FYI - These are back in stock (some colors).
Yes, they were also in stock for a couple days two months ago.
Could probably turn a profit selling it while it's still out of stock! (since it's not the color you ordered) Great videos!

How long does it take to charge the charger itsself wirelessly?
Mine takes forever, trying to find out whether it’s defective
Sorry, I never timed how long it took to charge from empty.

Yeah and no, this way it turns off and you can use it different I always use it for my watches. And they charger multiple times and then it turns off.
Dumb question but can I charge my iPhone using the usb c fast charger cable or do I have to stick with the old USB A?

How to reboot the powerbank. It seems like my power bank died after using few times….can’t charge

Great video
does the chaging pad lid close with the chager on it in tesla vehicle?
At about 17mm it's a little too thick to close the lid. It hits near the top of the charger.

My wireless feature charges but the cords do not charge anything for me
If you just got it, I would get a replacement.
Thank you I will try
trade ya for my black one :) still factory wrapped
I sold it a while ago.
How to use it wirelessly
Just place a device with a Qi charging coil on the top of it.
The Samsung one is 25W, wired.
And it’s cheaper, and has a second USB-C port

How long to charge it to charge phone on the go

I didn’t have an Apple Watch to test. It probably just needs to be placed over the charging coils in the center of the pad.
i wish it just worked without pressing any button for 3 seconds... just plug and put your phone on it and works...

6 to 8 hours for what? For use? That totally depends on the device connected.
