Exactly as a GenX we was raised to listen to the elders because they have something we didn’t and that’s age and experience. An if we’re smart enough to learn from them ourselves. We’ll have age and experience to pass on to the next generation. The older I got the more I realized that my parents and grandparents weren’t stupid and more often than not were right with the things that they told me and taught me. The vast majority of parents and grandparents only want to see us surpass them. An I learned that they did some very difficult and dangerous jobs to give me a better life than they had

As a former US Army, senior field grade officer, I would like to thank you for bringing this true British hero from the greatest generation ever on to let him sound the alarm to those who do not see how dangerous of times we are living in right now! He is 100% correct we are living in times which are more dangerous than after Hitler took power in Germany in the 1930s! He’s correct we are staring World War III in the face and doing nothing about it! thank you for bringing this hero and his clear minded thinking. I hope those who should will see this and listen to him! God save the King and bless the United Kingdom!

The great tragedy of the western world is that it lost the spiritual war, Thomas Jefferson said I tremble for my nation for God is a just God and his justice won't fail. If you don't know the enemy you are fighting how you are going to win the war. The destruction of America started when the Holy Bible was taken away from the school.

      but would add
that the Woke Global Marxist Agenda
      ===============================
      that has infected the West
      is as dangerous.
We need new systems of government
NOT handed to us by the WEF.
There is a very deep anger rising
      throughout the West
at what our own governments are doing to us.
      I would add
that my family have been warriors for generations,
but I personally would not fight
for the existing system here in England.
      I have seen too much

Speaking as 30-year Cold War Veteran, 'Preparedness' is one of WW2 Army Chief of Staff Gen. George C. My Grandfather was also in the Territorial Army, mobilized, & deployed with 50th Northubrian Division to the BEF.... Issued with 5 rounds of ammunition, yes, 5 bullets only. He was transporting troops to Dunkirk under fire. Eventually, he was told to immobilise his vehicle and go to the beach for evacuation. He engaged the enemy with his 5 bullets & ran to the beach. He was 5 days on the beach at Dunkirk, being one of the last to be evacuated. He searched the British dead for more ammunition to fire at the Stuka's that were bombing the troops on the beach. He didn't find any. The troops had all used their ammunition.
Blair destroyed the Territorial Army. During the Cold War, 1 British Corps had 4 Divisions, 3 Regular, and 1 Territorial Army. Being part-time, @ 72,000 strong, the TA cost less than 1% of the Army Budget, Army Budget not the Defence Budget.
30% of the infantry was TA, 80% of the Medical Corps were TA. The Regular Army was kept at high numbers after WW2 because of the Cold War. Before both WW1 & WW2, the Territorial Army was huge compared to the Regular Army. A cost-effective way of keeping a large number of troops. (Research the Haldane Act 1908, Lord Haldane, probably the best Minister of War / Minister of Defence the UK has ever had.)
It wasn't the Regular Army that held the Western Front until Kitchers New Army were trained, it was mainly the Territorial Army. If it was just the Regular Army, they would have been simply swept aside....
Something else worth mentioning during the Cold War, out of the 3 Special Air Service Regiments 21, 22, & 23 SAS, both 21 & 23 SAS were TA, each having 1 more Squdran than 22 SAS.
I am registered as 100% disabled by the MoD, War Pensions Agency following my Territorial Army Service during the Gulf War 1990-1991.

Blair didn't destroy the TA! He was responsible for modernising it and making it fit for purpose! The UK wouldn't have been able to deploy to Iraq and Afghanistan without the TA! In the 70's,80's and 90's it was an expensive bloaters drinking club!
I'll also remind you that David Cameron cancelled TA training for a year because he wouldn't pay for it! I bet you voted for reform!

Down here in Australia we’re beefing up quite a bit.
We’re setting up a “ring of fire” chain around Australia and we’re doing a pretty decent job so far, if we weren’t the Chinese wouldn’t be stressing the way they seem to be.
But the way I see it, as we’re becoming “Fortress Australia” - that only deems us as a giant, priority, nuclear target by hmmm, take your pick? China? ✅ NK? ✅ Iran? I wouldn’t say never ☑️
    Russia? ✅
We’re setting up a hypersonic + rocketry regiment I’m aware but Army are holding that capability tight to their chest for good reason.

Indeed preparations were made. For example the spitefire aircraft was designed under speculation of another world war. But it is also a question of adaptation to the situation. Once the war breaks out, doctrines and ideas will be tested and possibly proven ineffective. That’s why no one was entirely prepared in my opinion.

      You are right,
Britain was ready to fight as in WW1,
      except in the air,
      where fortunately,
not only were there good fighters and bombers en route,
      but Radar also.
      In addition to that,
a lot of work had been done
      creating shadow factories
      in case of bombing,
and this expanded further after bombing started.
I do not think we can each fully understand
      just how vast an undertaking
      a global war is!
      Just gathering people and resources
      required actions tested in WW1,
      and expanded on.
