    I saw him in NYC when Take Me To Church came out. His band live is phenomenal. Every member sings back up, creating such a rich backdrop to his poetic lyrics. Just the best concert I’ve seen to this day.

      Thanks for posting. I'm new to him - and I don't know WHERE I've been and how in the world I could have slept on this man and his music. I only heard Take Me To Church this year because other people were singing it on The Voice. Then I started doing some research. He's incredible. He's coming to Madison Square Garden this fall and I hope to go see him. He is the first artist in years and years that I WANT to spend a few hundred dollars to see!

    Every actor who's ever worked with the Muppets has said that in a few minutes, you completely forget about the crew and relate only to the Muppet themselves as a real person. I can believe Andrew saw Kermit perform live and saw just Kermit, a mythical figure and not a skinny little puppet on rods.

    The very first time I heard of Hozier was in the middle of Ireland, just before he broke it in the US. I was at a manor in the middle of the country side. Chatting with a few locals. And I was told to go home and listen to him and how big he would be. One of the most fun conversations I’ve ever had. Such a favorite of mine. Could listen to his singing and speaking voice for hours.

    So true what he said about art always having some sort of political dimension. At first I thought "surely not," but when I sat and thought about the art I've made, it's usually an expression of what I wished the world might be (and sadly, what might never be because of the destruction of humanity and the earth)

I am so disappointed, because I literally just found out about this man yesterday. Cannot believe I slept on him all these years. Well, I don't know. Maybe I'll go to Paris for my birthday this winter . . .

      In the US we have ticket master and live nation which basically have a monopoly on concert ticket sales and jack up the prices. It isn’t anything the artists have a say in or any control over.

    Such nonsense he speaks. He imagines political dimensions in everything, because he wants to, not because they exist in everything. Great voice though.

    • @anncarroll3611
      @anncarroll3611 ปีที่แล้ว +14

      That shows how shortsighted you are. The house ( occupant) Hozier mentioned could be knee deep in negative equity because of the corrupt behaviour of bankers and politicians circa the 2008 crash. Exorbitant rents make aspiring to buy your own house in 2023 a pipe dream.
      The supermarket is a “political” place because of all the choices we make when shopping .. sustainable/ non sustainable, fruit/ veg in season or out of season ( products’air miles, folks.. shop local and in season).
      Hozier, using simple images says so much and encourages us to take personal responsibility for the choices we make (the politicians we elect and everyday actions that affect or support the environment). Just saying!
