this is looking like the best team Toronto has had since the early 90's. Brodey and Bogosian on defence were stellar additions. great to watch Campbell blossom into a legit starter. Matthews and Marner once again at the top of the league in goals and points. Sandin showing flashes of brilliance in limited starts. Galchenyuk and Foligno some smart mid season trades. we have so much depth... even when our captain goes down you barely notice any effect on the team. and other than game one they are playing as a team with lots of passion. this is a joy to watch. keep it going!

I wasn't wrong on that point - they WEREN'T playing well enough to win - that's why they lost 3 in a row.
From that point, the Habs simply started playing better every game, with perhaps the exception of overtime in game 6, when Price saved their butts again.
By the same standard of measurement, though, I have to own the 'leafs resilience' part. There was an obvious collapse in Game 7 when it was particularly important for them to show some heart and put the game in the Habs' end. They just were not able.
So...in retrospect, I was right about the Habs, wrong about the Leafs. ;)

this is looking like the best team Toronto has had since the early 90's. Brodey and Bogosian on defence were stellar additions. great to watch Campbell blossom into a legit starter. Matthews and Marner once again at the top of the league in goals and points. Sandin showing flashes of brilliance in limited starts. Galchenyuk and Foligno some smart mid season trades. we have so much depth... even when our captain goes down you barely notice any effect on the team. and other than game one they are playing as a team with lots of passion. this is a joy to watch. keep it going!
