As a Dutch person I was shocked by the low car payment. Then I looked up the prices of the Macan GTS in the US vs NL, it's crazy.
$82,900 vs €147,400. Gotta love those Dutch taxes.
That car is literally made next door to us, with no import/export tariffs in the EU and we still pay almost twice, of what an American pays, absolutely ridiculous.

If I invest that same $100K and finance the car, then I’m earning the market average (which is 8-10%) minus the interest paid. Why are we all thinking that money is "success"? Some people measure success by how much we give back to our community.

Very impressive, almost a half of a million dollars. Also being self employed or if you created an LLC for your TH-cam, I can imagine you have huge write offs. I actually just hit my first 7 figure year with my business (however, I am 40 yo). To make 500k at 26 years old is very impressive. Congratulations to you. I hope to see you keep up the amazing work.

Absolutely love videos about money, especially yours, money is not a taboo topic, thank you for sharing ☺️
It’s all relative at the end of the day & I sensed early on that although the numbers were adding up, when it came to a % of your income it wasn’t going to be extravagant!
However did not expect that amount to equate to only 20% & 80% saved, amazing 😍

Omg... I was viewing all of this in the context of what I make and could not believe you were spending the money on what you were, until I learned that it was 20% of your total income.... go off sis. Drive your porsche and get your coffee, love that for you.

Great video, Monica - I moved to Seattle from LA a few years ago and thought I'd save "TONS" of money but I felt like my spending habits didn't change much... your end of year calculation of save vs earn is a helpful frame of reference. I've increased my income but kept my spending stable, so ... yeah - I guess I save a "TON" more! ;)

when you say you save 80% of your income before taxes... I mean for a lot of people taxes are nearly half of your income. I would be more interested in how much you save of your income *after* taxes. I guess you probably think about it a bit differently since as a self-employed person, your taxes are paid all at once in a big lump sum (I assume) whereas for those who are employed, taxes are just automatically deducted and you never really see that money.

Considering that she’s in the top 1% of US earners, she also passes the annual threshold for topping out SS contribution as well. I find it a little odd that she doesn’t touch either of these points.
Everyone watching this video should keep in mind that she makes nine times the median salary for all American workers, which is about $50k annually!
I’m happy for her success. It’s also important to remember that just because someone works very hard and is successful enough to be in the top 1% of earners, doesn’t mean that someone earning the median income hasn’t worked hard.
