@@CJ2X yup. Our south OC weather is amazing but outside of this county, it’s getting crazy. Been going to the DFW quite often and they’ve got a nice evo group, but that weather is 115 to humidity, to hail, to freeze and then crazy winds.
I appreciate your content. You seem very matter of fact and no BS when it comes to information sharing and calling it like it is. Big up yourself; you got a subscriber all the way in Barbados. We have a pretty decent budding evo community here but parts (mainly 7/8/9) are difficult to come by and shipping is insane, however, we keep doing our thing. Always good to have content to share with the guys and gals here in the evo community. Keep it coming
I appreciate the feedback bro. I’ve heard about parts being hard to get down there.. On the positive side, your car will be one of a kind. That’s the stuff I think about.
Standalone to me regardless if you are built, bolt ons etc is 1. A safety measure (like you said 1 unit that controls/shows the data you need and has built/set safety precautions) 2. Optimized for your setup and not a generic flash or something along those lines 3. Option to expand features (cruise control, anti lag, boost by gear etc) Ofcourse it all depends on the budget you have etc, but I think a decent haltech or link will pay itself back when 1 day it WILL catch the error and shuts the car off and saves your engine. While a simple piggyback or equivalent will keep running untill it is to late.
@@CJ2X Its flex, a ton of people who are tuned by the guy who tuned my car run the same setup. Can run anything from cali 91-e85. Never did the pedal dance and car runs on any fuel mix.
It is clear that a standalone unit is better than the stock one, but with all the cons it has, price and finding a good tuner that makes it work well, I prefer to spend that money on something else. There have also been updates to the stock unit's software that allow you to do more than the originally did. But, if you have money, a standalone is a good recommendation
These days there is stock ECU that has more features than the most of standalone units... And its much faster. But still ECUs like Haltech, Motec are the top ones.
I was sold till the whole Cali thing. We can’t even put an air freshener on without being State reffed
I don’t miss that state lol.. Just the socal weather.

Well said.. I don’t disagree but most wouldn’t think it’s worth it.
@@CJ2X yeah some think everything as cheap as possible, but act all supprised when it breaks🤣
@@tuned4life agreed 🤷🏽♂️
Realized I said the wrong company, I have an innovate flex sensor on stock ecu
That’s not flex fuel.. You’re on dual map..

Hey boss man, how do you like your flex sensor on stock ecu? Would you recommend it?
@@nelsonlopez2738 Im no tuning expert, probably not the one to be asking tbh. I know it works and has caused me no issues though.
So i stumbled on your channel, just want to say nice EVO,
Good vid & rant bro. I have an X running with Evoscan and the classic tactrix setup but good info on the pros of going all the way
Didn’t realize it was a rant lol. I appreciate the feedback!
I agree with you which is why I'm switching I'm the near future 👍🏼
I’m actually surprised you’re not already on one.
God i need me a evo 9 with out the wing so bad. Such a beautiful car man! Amazing job on it bro
Thanks bro!

Well said, good information
Oh wow.. Positive feedback?! 😱
Hi, appreciate it.
Did you hear anything about Link ECU? Are they any good?
I don’t have much experience with them but I’ve heard good things.
@@CJ2X Thanks.
good informational video, but yeah im from cali, laws are ass here
Other than the weather, I don’t miss Cali. lol
If you do dbw I hope you film it, I have questions.
It’s happening bro. Just later in the year because I wanna get a retune with bigger injectors.
Potentially save your “Liability”
Sure..
I'm probably gonna go with a standalone ECU eventually, the problem is that I'm in Korea 😂. Does halte h do etunes?
Haltech itself doesn’t do the tuning, they just sell the parts. You just have to find a tuner. The guys at Corr Performance do e-tunes!
@@CJ2X ah nice! Appreciate it bro
English racing tuned my 9 for flex fuel last year.
Does English Racing tune Haltech? I'm thinking about getting my evo built with them.
Pretty sure they do.. Can’t go wrong with English Racing!
@@trunguyen2580 mine was on stock ecu.
Good videos...good good video and absolute beautiful Evo
Thanks man!
Hey bro!
Anvii here from instagram, came across your channel haha, keep up the content my man :)
