I never knew Joann fabrics sold car headliner fabric. That tip was genius and not expensive! The most difficult part was having to figure out how to disconnect the sun visor power connector as it was wrapped in foam and I couldn't find the connector release. It took about 15min of messing around with it until I was able to feel it under all the foam glued to the connector. I didn't go so far as yourself to remove the side and rear pillars (just pried them loose and removed the screw in the rear pillar) and I was still able to remove and re-install the liner. Thank you for your video! It saved me some money!
Glad you like it mate. Take your time while sticking the new fabric. As you saw in the video once it sticks it sticks. Windy days are also not good days to do this outside... LOL
I had this car before. When I bought it all the fabric that covers the head liner was falling off. I ended up getting rid of it. And guess what? I painted the head liner with gray paint that you use for floors on drive ways or porch. I had a nice result. I didn't have to remove any parts from my car. Just a little brush, patience and delicacy to do it. It matched pretty well because mine was a gray car. I spent not even a penny. Somebody was painting my porch floor and gave me less than a pint of paint. Needless to say. You have to clean it well with detergent before you paint. And don't forget the masking tape for the edges. And it works for any car. Believe me. It's worth doing it. You sit inside with petience and no rush and you'll do magic.
@@MinkMood I more meant the video quality since there were some spots on the headliner I saw didnt adhere properly, but I would probably do worse myself lol. I have a 2008 Mazda 6 so this nonetheless was great inspiration to finally redo it. Keep rockin it bro 🤙
@@MinkMood thanks mate! How do I get the clips from the seat belt back? The small rectangular ones that you can pull to adjust the height of the sealt belt just won't stick back and hold on its place.
those plastic clips, you will see that internally have 2 side things to actually clamp a metallic part that is on the Belt Height Adjustment system. The trick is making that plastic thing to hold that metallic part. So when you actually pull it, the system activates. Let me know.
I'm having some trouble disconnecting the the electrical connectors for the visors. Any tips/tricks? I don't want to force it too much as not to damage the plastic.
Hi Peter, they go out with 1 screw and on the other side is a plastic thing (I broke this while taking out) then the visor is out, slowly pull out till the electric cable come of the headliner. Then disconnect the plug and done
Hello, i have an 08 mazda with TPMS on it. I've read that the TPMS module is in the headliner área behind the overhead console. Did you see the module when you took off the headliner?
Hi Jose, great to see you fixing your car!!! Thats the attitude. Now I dont remember about seeing a TPMS Control Module. Something that is helping me a lot with the FRS 2JZ Swap is getting Repair Manuals. Sorry didnt help you much mate!
@@MinkMood if you could help me look in your repair manual i Will really appreciate it. This is what i found on the internet: The TPMS module is located in the roof headliner area behind the overhead console. You can disconnect the module, but I am not sure if that will prevent the alarm from beeping. REMOVAL/INSTALLATION 1.Remove the console. 2. Remove the center panel unit. 3. Remove in the order indicated in the table.
This video is a bit old but i just got this exact model and was wondering how u got the headliner out my headliner is sagging and was looking to replace it
Hi mate, you need to disconnect the sun visors and both head lights consoles. One that’s off there are some wires to disconnect and one last connection in the rear side panel they need to come off. Then I just pulled it out thru the front door. Takes time but it’s doable!!!! Keep us posted
No special tools, only thing was a torx for the seatbelts. Headliner is attached with headlights and a metallic clip at the center of it. Slice it out and will go
Hi man. No it went back to normal. Check that the headlines is properly clamped and no wiring loose. If I remember correctly it places into a holding clamp in the center of the roof
Did you need to take any seats out to get the liner out of the car ? Also what tools did you use to get the plugs out ? Thanks Would love a video on how you got it out
The one from the back? You need to remove the plastic side covers. For that, rear side of back seats will need to come off. Then you disconnect and take the entire headliner. The MOST complex part, as you can see my terrible results, is porperly sticking the new foam. Take time and have a partner to help. Hope this helps mate!
@@MinkMood Forget that guy.. Great video. I'm about to do NOT fix my headliner the same way. I've done exactly what you've done to 3 other cars in the past and had no problems with it sagging again.
