Dead Silence is a movie I enjoy that nobody else seems to like. Bob Gunton is a great character actor. The mansion in this movie should tell you that something sinister is going on.
I was surprised how good this was and Highly Recommend it as a fun One time watch. Don't get me wrong, the story and set up are very generic but it was the execution that i found especially good and is one of the few recent horror films that actually gave me a few little chills due to it's imagery.
Damn. You must have smoked some good weed before you watched this on. I think I am probably far more surprised that you said "how good it was". Which strain were you smoking? Was it some Indica??? lol I'm just giving you some crap. If you liked it, good on you. To me, there was just nothing special about this movie. Especially, when you literally know from the jump who the bad guy actually is. I guess if you are going to be predictable movie, at least make the scares and ghosts memorable. It's like they saw Del Toro's The Devil's Backbone ages ago and said cool ghost effect, lets do that, only worse. I dunno to each their own, but serious what you smoking on? Or you on them edibles? lmfao
I think the movie you were thinking of was The Invitation? What a nooz of a movie. The Inheritance was about the girl whose father dies amd leaves her the bunker secret
I mean, it's unfortunate when you have a typecast actor, like Bob Gunton. You know when you see him, especially as a Billionaire, that he is the bad guy. There is no need to look for a mystery, there is no need to look for a deeper meaning. Especially, with him starting with a quote about how time always wins. THE ONLY surprising thing about this movie is that the mother wasn't sacrificed for his billions. The fact that her natural death made him want to live forever is literally the only original thing about this movie. However, there is absolutely nothing original about the rich head of the family being willing to sacrifice his whole family for his own selfish desires. I guess the best thing I can say about this movie is that I didn't turn it off and actually finished it. Compared to a lot of the slop these days, I guess that's a bit of a win. Even the son's death at the end is completely telegraphed. The movie looked decent, but lacked any form of suspense or horror. It was too predictable in every single thing it did. In fact, with an actor like Bob Gunton if you want to subvert our expectations, make him a surprise good guy. Not the bad guy he always plays. I guess I'm not super bummed out, because I didn't really expect much from it.
Let's protect the old man by leaving him alone and then splitting up to explore the big house with apparently no lights. Too stupid for me. Also, the concept of Mammon as a demon didn't come about until Elizabethan England. Before then, it was a word of probably Canaanite origin meaning greed. The line about the language being older than Latin showed they did zero research or expected no one in the audience to know anything about it. I totally agree about it feeling like a lower end Blumhouse production. I just couldn't get past how dumb the writing was for an otherwise competent film technically speaking. I could never get immersed.
I loved this one 😂 cheesy but the father I remember from dead silence. Absolute beast

I just saw the trailer it looks like some of the cinematography was inspired by the Thailand film “The Maid.”
That’s a good film
@@sinistercinemareviews5420 Yes, indeed. I put it up there with some of the best horror films of the 2010s along with The Conjuring, Hereditary, etc.
