- The GR10 (grande randonnée dix) is located in the south of France. It is a 954-kilometre hike that traverses the Pyrenees mountain range from the Atlantic Ocean in the west to the Mediterranean Sea in the east. The guidebook outlines a 55-day itinerary to complete it. This is day 45 to 47 for me, August 17th to 19th, 2023.

Congratulations for finishing the GR10, and also for making this excellent video series. Wonderful footage. It brings back memories to our own walks on the GR10 in 2009, 2010, 2011. My wife and I were in our sixties. We did not carry heavy packs, were pampered by luggage transfers and some stages were shortened for us. But still it was impressive, After 12 years I forgot a bit how difficult some parts of the GR10 were (we had a lot of snow on some of the high passes), but the beauty of the Pyrenees is unforgettable. You captured this wonderful landscape in a very moving and personal way. Thank you Christina, merci beaucoup.

1. Seeing as you missed the trail a couple of times, I take it you didn't use an app. How come?
2. Do all these small, rural businesses accept credit cards?
3. Did you phone ahead to make reservations anywhere?
4. How's the phone reception in the mountains? In towns? Which cell phone provider did you use?
5. If you had to do it again, would you do anything differently?
6. Advice for anyone planning on doing it next year?

Wow! So hard to believe this over! What an incredible journey we have all been privileged to take with you. Not only did you complete this amazing hike but you managed to video all of it at the same time and not just video but the video is nothing short of amazing!
So many wonderful memories. I shed tears with you when you summited that peak (the one with the cross) and I loved you serenading the cows, those were probably my 2 favorite parts. I can’t believe you threw those boots away! 😂 I thought you would keep them as a momento of the trip.
When you mentioned the fires my heart dropped to my feet (I follow another You Tuber who has attempted twice in the past 2 yrs to complete the PCT and both times was unable to complete due to fires) I’m so glad you were able to finish.
So proud of what you accomplished here and the scenery was just phenomenal and I am so glad you shared it with us.
Loved the soundtrack too! I would walk around the hospital where I work night shift humming the “Funshine” song to myself 😂

I’m finally getting to watch some of your older videos and I loved in #50 where you said you were learning to embrace winter, that’s exactly what I need to do as well. MD doesn’t get as long of a winter as Toronto but moping inside for our entire winter is too much time wasted! Like you, I’m happiest when I’m moving!
@@20657parks “There is no such thing as bad weather, only bad clothing.” This simple statement is what completely changed my attitude about winter. And the statement is 💯% true. And there are no bugs in the winter! No puddles or mud, either! 🥰
Par rapport à ta vidéo à environ 13 minutes et après le refuge de Las Illas. J'ai rencontré moi aussi un type bizarre en tracteur j'ai envie de dire un jeune con prétentieux qui est venu me dire que je n'avais pas à traverser sa propriété alors que j'étais sur le GR10 et bien sûr il était très désagréable. Inutile de te dire que je l'ai envoyer se faire voir et que je trouvais son comportement scandaleux. C'est vrai, je suis un garçon, c'est plus facile mais je pense qu'il ne faut pas hésiter à signaler ce genre d'individu associable et ne pas hésiter à le contrer. A part ça, j'ai eu beaucoup d'émotions à voir ta vidéo et cela m'a rappelé des souvenirs extraordinaires. Je recommence cette traversée en 2024, départ d'Hendaye le 1er juillet. Moi aussi un jour je veux refaire le GR10 parce que c’était vraiment vraiment une expérience à couper le souffle. Cet été, je vais faire le GR5 et, un jour, je vais faire le GR20 en Corse. Aussi, cet été, c’est possible que je vais faire le Tour de Mont-Blanc. Je vous souhaite une expérience très agréable cet été, Bernard. It was just powdered milk and instant coffee, not protein powder, which would be harder to find along the way, whereas powdered milk was relatively easy to find. Best of luck and have fun on your GR10 trek this summer. You’ll love it!

I really enjoyed this series on the GR10. I tend to live vicariously through the adventures of through hikers on You Tube. This was one of the best I've seen. You really captured the essence of the French Pyrenees. But I want to know as someone who is planning to go; which was your favorite part? The west, central or east portions of the Pyrenees? I will only have so much time. Merci Beaucoup Christina.

I am thrilled that you enjoyed the series. Before I recommend a section, I’d like to know… Will this be the first section for you? Meaning, do you plan on doing other sections later on? If so, I highly recommend starting at the beginning, in Hendaye. If you think you’re only going to do this one section, that’s tough… I guess I would say the sections I did in videos 174 and 178? You can’t lose, though. Absolutely any section is gasp-worthy. Please keep me posted on what you choose! I’m super curious. Enjoy heaven on earth! 🥰✌🏼

I have no doubt about your claim that all the sections are gasp worthy,( I have crossed the Pyrenees two times by bike and it was impossible to wipe the smile off my face, so much beauty!) I guess I was just wondering if there were any real standouts if I was just going to jump in for a week.@@Womaninthewoods13
@@user-ui5ut9ih5w I would just avoid anywhere near the Pic du Midi d’Ossau or the Pic de Vignemale because this is where most people “hop on for just the highlights” and it is therefore ruined by way too many people. It is spectacular scenery smothered by a herd of tourists. Anywhere aside from those two places should be golden. 😊✌🏼
