Hi! I loved the videos for Red Rocks to Mountain Tops as well as the Battleborn Nevada series you did. I’m trying to plan trips to do both of these rides but the link to the gps files isn’t working for either of them. Is there still a way to get these gpx files? Thanks in advance!!
Glad to hear it! We love being able to provide as much value as possible through the entire process of owning and riding adventure bikes! We appreciate you following along with us! - Josh
Even with all the internet research tools, good gear, and good bikes this is still a big undertaking. My pops used to do this kind of stuff back in the 60's on old Triumph's and BSA's with a fistful of paper maps.
It's great that you included all those older bikes (plus some new bikes), to show people that you don't necessarily need a brand new KTM to have a great adventure. Looking forward to watching the series and seeing how they all go.
Watching this after a year stuck in quarantine in Europe, after years of travelling and living around the world. Managed to do a solo bike trip last summer from Italy to Nordkapp and down through Eastern Europe and stayed in Greece 1 month. But now back in lockdown. Watching these kinds of videos right now isn’t easy but I’m so grateful that you made them! Thank you!
Wow, guys, inspiring stuff. I’m a mountain biker who is slowly getting into the dual-sport scene and I’m so glad I found your channel and site. So much to learn!
I'm in the exact same situation, I have a YT Capra and just picked up an XT350 and I'm afraid that I've fallen in love with another expensive hobby hahaha
Utah is such a beautiful state. I was out there just a week ago around Northern Arizona and then around Moab at Arches National Park. I was with the family, so no bike to ride, but I want to get out there on two wheels and experience all that area has to offer. Was in Colorado as well. After finishing the Continental Divide through Colorado it definitely teased my appetite for that area. Gotta get back out there on my bike. Looks like a blast!
Thanks for putting this all together, 5 of us just finished your ride. Did the 5 day plan, worked out great. We did add Last Dollar road instead of the highway into Telluride, but everything else we followed your tracks. Awesome ride!
Justin is the only person I recognize his videos are why I get my products from Rocky Mountain ADV. Nice route wish I was there and by the way the tusk products on your web site are amazing so durable.
What a top quality video! No selfie shots, no constant blabbing, no blasting music but instead lots of amazing scenery and excellent voice over. Big thumbs up! I will say though, those bikes didn’t look like they ranged from five feet to nineteen feet long :)
Very cool. I've spent time over the years in Monticello at Bull Hallow and have made trips up through Telluride, Ouray, Silverton on pavement. As stunningly beautiful as the area is from the road, you show how much more outrageously awesome it is from the trail. Good job! Thank you for posting what seems to be your living our dreams!
This is awesome! Thanks for all the resources to plan out this ride and the comments about the sections and alternates. RMATV is a great company and i'm happy to be a repeat customer.
Awesome video series! I am a little disappointed that Justin isn't riding the DT 175! How about an ADV series on the budget bikes? Definitely inspired to get back and ride.
Thanks guys! I don't think the DT would have made it. We are talking about doing an ADV ride on budget bikes though. I think it would be a blast! - Justin
Liberty Tree I recently got the CRF250L and was wondering how far I can push it. Most videos on YT limit it to dirt roads. You think it can do some of these trails?
@@ScarySpots dude are you blind? He’s riding a ktm 890..... a adventure bike. Unless your a absolutely horrible rider, you should be able to do way way more than this.
I miss that area, I did a lot of growing up in that area. I have lived in SoCal for the past 37 years now. I grew up on dirt bikes. I'm now looking at adventure bikes. #nevertoooldtogetlooseinthedirt!

This is an amazing series! Thanks for all the work you put into this ride. Would really enjoy riding this someday. Keep up the good work and ride safe!

I just bought a 2020 Beta 390RR-S and can't wait to hit these passes on day trips! I have a BMWF800GS and have done a few of the backcountry discovery routes by Touratech but I am definitely excited to get out and rip around on a lighter bike. Enjoy all your adventure trips on this channel!
I am 5'11" 200 lbs - if I want to do this kind of riding, would a Honda CRF 450L be powerful enough to handle my weight & luggage on these types of trails??? Thanks - LOVE these videos!
Wolverines? I've always been drawn to wolverines but never seen one, not that I'd expect to see one out there. Dude, you just nudged me one step closer to getting out there to rent a bike. With retirement 14 mos. away and over 100k on my '07 KLR(resting in the shed) anticipation is growing. My Super Tenere is loads of grins here on the central PA roads of all kinds from Appalachian forest roads to Amish farm valley vistas. I'll never get tired of riding PA but my 4th trip to Utah, only in cars so far, will be epic. Looking forward to a Big Sky Moose Drool or two too.
Just found this series tonight and stayed up way past my bedtime for it! Gets me excited for warmer weather. I haven’t seen the other videos so I’m not sure you to gear reviews. Would be good to hear your prefs. That said, which bright day-glo jacket is “Bro” wearing?
Thanks for putting these together guys - I've rode a few of the BDR routes now and some of the TAT, but these are welcome additions to the gpx library ;)

Great video series @RockyMountainATVMC!! Would a WR250R be able to handle this you think? I was wondering if Justin would choose his RM 'Adventurized' WRR, or do you need more horsepower? Some of those rocky sections I would want a super light bike on... not a 650 or heavier. Keep up the great work!
Just finished COBDR on my WR250R. Having a light bike was great, and only once was power a concern due to elevation- the steep switchbacks of Corkscrew Pass required first gear, full throttle, and a bit of clutch to keep from stalling. Lower gearing would have helped... mine is stock.
on the pavement part of the trip, by Ridgeway when you hit highway 62 to highway 145 to Telluride. Y'all should ride the "Last Dollar Road" it doesn't disappoint with the views.
Little tricky on road-rides (not very smooth), buy my Moose insert gives me peace-of-mind on these rides as I have to worry a lot less about flat tires and such. We've changed plenty of flat tires on these kinds of rides, but never on my bikes.
I think you should do a multi day touring trip on the Honda CT125 ("Hunter Cub" I believe) once they are available and have some parts for modifying and selling. In some ways, they are designed nicely for light and economic adventuring. (rugged design for a motorbike/"scooter", comes with a huge rear rack, room for wider wheels and tires if you want, has a skid plate, and - gets extremely good fuel mileage - I believe over 150mpg is possible.) Bikes like these could bring people into ADV (and parts buying) who would otherwise not have done so -- some older guys, women, folks who feel too small/weak for big bikes, scooter nerds, efficiency lovers, nature lovers, hipsters, college kids who would buy a scooter for transportation, etc...
Old video but I can tell you exactly what it was that gave you a flat @ 20.57 it is the discarded stem from a pop rivet! that was used probably for a jeep trail repair.
What seemed to be the tire of choice for this ride, especially on the KLR's? I run Shinko 705's on my Gen 1 KLR but looking for a more trail type tire, maybe in the 50/50 range.

Do you guys air down tires at all on this trip?
Air up to avoid the flats!
Yes. You don't want to be running max pressure on those trails. It is a fine balance, though, to avoid pinch flats when running fully loaded.
I like lower pressure off-road. It is important to run rim locks and balance the tires. - Justin
