*Lionheart* "who took out you guys out?
*Rockets* "so there I was, Blastin"
You really need to be able to set a danger close distance so they don’t just obliterate your own front line
@@jond7691man-thing too scared-scared of casualties, yes-yes
It's almost 5PM and it was only when Lionheart said it's Monday that I realised what day it was...
You really should consider putting an Empire Captain in Elspeth's Army. You can use him to clump up units around him away from your front lines and drop a Purple Sun on top of him to get the maximum damage out of it. He is pretty decent in Melee and can hold his own.
Alternatively, take the Ikit Claw approach and use your Skavensla- I mean State Troops to clump up your enemies! Let those People Suns rip, they will probably kill more enemies than friendly troops
The artillery in the first battle were amazing with hundreds of kills each. That Hellstrom Rocket Battery really carried its weight there with almost 500 kills alone. Wailing Doom is an accurate name for such a devastating unit, excellent performance by the crews of those rocket batteries.
"The wissenland welcome" a freaking mortar 😂 this name is perfect
There is book series thats called Powder Mage trilogy where there are mages use gunpowder to do magic
The first battle it was the artillery slamming into the rear of your line which killed a lot of your troops lol
The Hellstorm in particular does tons of friendly fire when it fires close to your line so it's best to turn it off just before the lines clash.
I think you also underestimate how much extra damage the cheaper towers can do, especially to single entities as they're going past. They're still worse than the explosive ones but it's better to build one close to the end if you have the supplies instead of ending the battle with left overs because you couldn't get the more expensive ones in time.
Man I love these new legendary lords
i love this Elspeth campaign of yours, a bit more even, than your Malakai campaign, don't get me wrong, i love that too, but this elspeth campaign seems to be more organize and calculated, seeing you calculating the risk and rewards of confederating and choosing your fight and wars is fun, and more realistic also, thank you so much for answering my question in the previous video about Nuln low public order, it's great to see you pay attention to the comments.
Great video! In previous empire letsplays you had a melee lord, spell caster and a warrior priest. I like that the empire has 5 hero types now. You can change it up from army to army. But I do think empire captains are good.
Glad you’re enjoying Elspeth so much! Good old derpy AI in sieges, at 43:03 what happened was your knights charged close to the gates, so they automatically opened and let the grave guard in. Personally I find that if I have arrow missile troops like those crossbows, they perform way better on the ground behind the wall than on top of it. Seems silly, but they never fire properly on top of the wall, and they don’t get any benefit. CA needs to add the range buff from the barricade to walls to make them worth holding, right now you’re much better off just setting everyone up in your central capture point where you can funnel the enemy.
I’m guessing Tim gets his name from the Powder Mage trilogy of books by Brian McClellan, nice choice 👌🏻 great books too!
Um, Tim has been the name of the first hero in warhammer since Lionheart started. Usually a mage. I can't remember if it's a Monty Python reference or not.
@@Smackavoy181 You're right, it's a Monty Python reference
Her battle animations are just awesome!
To whomever suggested Tim the Powdermage, thank you for bumping Brian McLellans books back up to my reading list. Wizards in napoeleonic fantasy wasjust what i needed atm
Lionheart, tap room now provide additional upkeep reduction
Oooh a bonus episode. Very nice.
Yes, my freshman class has joined the army. I will be watching their progress with much interest
Edit: My boys were shot in the back by friendly fire, just a bit of hazing I'm sure
the circle around the towers i believe is their stalk visibility range, the tower range itself is much larger, it has fired a few times at units coming off your walls
Playing as Imrik, I have a lord with the task to quell rebellions at Bitter ba till it has stopped having a load of Skave corruption. I have not yet destroyed the source. Anyway! This lord has fought three or so Skaven rebellions now. Nice way to farm a little extra dosh. However, now she also got the SKAVEN DENIAL trait... ?! Despite fighting them a couple of times already.. bah! THAT particular joke must be changed sooner or later by CA 🙂
Izabella buffs bats in the army
Lionheart forgets Elspeth is a caster sometimes, love to see it hehe
for the towers in sieges i pretty sure that the circle is how close an enemy unit with stalk needs to be before they are spotted
I love that your first loses were friendly fire 😂
City towers have two ranges. A 200 range attack and a much shorter (55?) Range anti-stalk field. The ui only shows the anti stalk. They should have a slightly better range than your crossbows.
well, elspeth being and magic lord, a mele hero could make sense. for all others, I agree with you about the melee lords and teh mage heros
Get Ellsberg in channeling stance some to refill the wind of change.
think about researching the engineer guide for their extra research speed and upgrade to the engineer
Empire isnt looking so healthy, the Rose of the Empire need to adress the matter
Lionheart, that empire captain that you've got at the beginning of the video, Udolf Sollander, reduces the cost of building in a region by 25% and increase the income of all buildings by 10%. Moving him towards Gelt wasn't necessarily helpful towards your economy. Also, you could've moved Elspeth next to Averheim and set up an ambush on the circle of influence of that settlement so that when Vlad attacked, her army wouldn't take high losses since she had a powerful garrison supporting her while her army still would've replenished because of allied territory
The AI knows if you're in ambush around a cities circle of influence and 99% of the time will choose not to attack. I wanted to draw Vlad in hence why I didn't bring Elspeth in closer!
Tim the gunsmith.
Hello! I don't know the stats but we are told that the Knights of the Black Rose aren't shock cav like the rest of the empire knights but are meant to get stuck into melee and stay there killing. Just thought I'd let you know because I saw you pulled them out for a charge when you don't need to... but once again I don't know their stats... and I am not a cav expert.
Yeah they arent shock cav correct however when facing Vampires I find its usually best to still cycle charge enemies with cav to break their leadership and cause them to crumble.
That Captain campaign skills is usefull when you want to build up Nuln?
i dont know if this is helpful, but I remember a somtime ago I watched a LP and this guy was playing as an empire faction and he had acces (through research) to a missile that didnt hit friendly troops. If you know more or herad of the same, maybe that would be a thing to research so that you dont have to think about how you fire hte canons.
Forgive me if I’m wrong but aren’t the black rose knights the ones you can leave in combat and don’t have to cycle charge? They do better damage left in combat? I could be completely wrong
The question is: Does our troops fear more the undead or Elspeth?! 😅😅😅
ouch the vampire counts are a problem
Im sorry but is there a blood bowl arena between Averheim and the Moot?
looks like it!
How do you deal with vlad early with the empire?
Blast him into oblivion
Friendly fire isn't.... Neither's Vlad....
Have you tried the "Guns, Smoke & Spectacle" mod on the steam workshop? it adds lots of smoke effects to gunpowder units like in Napoleon Total war
Not yet as it's not currently compatible with this build of the game
I honestly disagree with you on heroes, each has their own role. I find Empire captains, outside of training your units, are good for anchoring the line. you put them where you expect the fight to be bad, and you let them help by providing leadership and combat skills
I'll agree some aren't as good as others, but at the same time, if you wanna fill a hole in your army they can help. for instance, your empire captain buffing your infantry or cav is amazing
Oh sure they all have a role within certain playstyles I just don't really find much use for them personally as I'd likely prefer a Warrior Priest.
It was supposed to be Nuln's Pointy Sticks **fist shaking.gif**
I knowwwwww I'm sorry when I was typing Nuln's Sharp Sticks just sounded better, you still very much created and inspired this final named version :)
