Hi Leanna! I love applying as much as I can with my fingers! There is something about the tactile experience that I just adore. MAC's Face & Body was the first foundation that I felt made my skin still look like my skin but enhanced, and that made me start to change my overall style of makeup into the "no makeup" makeup that I love today. Thank you so much for taking the time to watch and comment, I hope you have a wonderful week!
I love this look! It's interesting that the recommendation is to apply the foundation with the fingers. I don't know why I've always thought that it'd be next to impossible to get an even application with fingers, but this look came out looking so natural. Your comment about finding the ideal shade match made me think of that vintage makeup commercial where they would make a bespoke pressed powder right at the counter with a blend of what looked like white and primary colour pigments. I think L'Oreal launched a machine that does that a few years ago, but only for home use. But there's a theatricality to it that I find really cool (though maybe a little impractical when you want to just grab and go) but I think I've only ever seen it recently with Le Labo... except they're working off a strict recipe with no customization beyond your name on the printed label, from what I recall.
Hi Andy! Applying foundations or any other cream/liquid product with finger is remarkable as it helps them blend more synergistically with the skin and its natural texture. That being said, some products lend themselves better to finger applications than others. In my early days, I remember someone trying to recruit me to be a rep for a direct-to-consumer brand, and one of their big selling points was custom blending for foundation, and I found that so fascinating! I recall Lancome had a device at select counted that could mix custom foundation shades, and a few months ago, I read that YSL (I think) was launching something that would allow consumers to mix custom lip colours. I find watching the associates at Le Labo mixing the fragrances fascinating! Thank you so much for such an excellent comment; I hope you have a great week!
I am thrilled you enjoyed this video! Since publishing this video, I tend to set it with the CoverGirl Clean Fresh Pressed Powder in the cooler months, and when it is warmer, I use the Eglips Blur Pact Powder. I have also found this newer version of MAC Face & Body tends to look shiny and breakdown more quickly on very humid days so a tiny bit of the Laura Mercier Translucent Setting Powder over my skincare before I apply the foundation helps, and it helps to tone down the shine! I hope this was helpful, cheers!
Hi Zack, great review. The only MAC foundation I have tried is the Pro Longwear which I loved and the cream one which was far too oily on me. I think that this one would be too glowy for me as well 🦋
Hi Maria! The MAC Pro Longwear was such a lovely foundation, but when the Pr Longwear Nourish Waterproof Foundation was launched it stole my heart and wore like a dream all day long with its natural matte gorgeousness! Haha, now I want to try it out again. I think as Face and Body foundations the Dior Backstage would be a better match for you as it leans more towards the natural finish end of the spectrum. Thank you so much for taking the time to watch and comment, I hope you have a wonderful week!
Another great foundation review! 😀The original Face and Body was the only MAC foundation I tried and I remember enjoying it quite a bit. It was just so easy to use! But even the 50 ml bottle was too much for me. Haha. BTW, I always find at least one thing I want to try from watching your videos. I really want that MAC 140 brush! 😆
Hi Lena! I must admit that I was surprised to read you tried out MAC Face & Body, as in my mind I could see you going more for something like Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua for a skin like foundation. I recall there was a point I loved mixing the MAC F&B with the Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua and loving it! If you pick up the MAC 140 I would love to know your thoughts! Thank you so much for watching and commenting; I hope you have a wonderful week!
Hi Gladys! I would still have to say I prefer the Chanel over the MAC. The Chanel feels a bit more hydrating, and if I ever have any dry patches, I feel like it smooths over them. Which MAC Face & Body is gorgeous, the application can worsen the appearance of dry patches as buffing can accentuate them. I hope this was helpful!
I was a huge fan of MAC Face and Body foundation it's all I used I am so disappointed in the new version I find it lacks in the coverage it's too sheer I hate having to put on layers, I never had to layer with the original F&B
Hello Sarah! I couldn't agree more with you! When this new version of Face & Body was released, I couldn't quite figure out my feelings, and now that I have had it for a while, I find that I never reached for it! There was something subtlely different about the previous formula that I enjoyed more that made me use it more, resulting in me going through several bottles. I thought I would enjoy the expanded W colour range, as with the previous colour range, I needed to mix shades, and then it still pulled too yellow/warm. Have you found any other complexion products you enjoy as much as the previous MAC Face and Body formula? Thank you for watching; I hope you had a wonderful weekend!
Hi Zack! Love this review!! I love that you used your fingers to apply!! It looks beautiful on your skin! So fresh and natural looking!

@@ZeeDooley I honestly haven't found anything that comes close to the original F&B.
I'm trying out the Mac waterweight Foundation
