    I mix Mac with the CT FaceTime and it looks great & wears well. I may have to give the Dior a test as I think that side of your face looked better at the end. Love that you applied one on one side and the other on the other side as it really showed the wear for each. Thanks 😊

    I never thought to mix a little of a second foundation, where have I been? I have a few and some are near misses. Humn, that’s a good way to use the 2nd choice foundations and make my fave last longer. Thank you. I do use my fave sunscreen on my face and the ones that don’t do well under makeup on my chest and hands. Another way to use,
    prolong product and save. Thank you.

    I think the Dior side looked better on you, Gemma. Softer finish with more coverage. I tried Dior Face and Body quite a while ago, (Stephanie Marie loves it and I ordered it shortly after watching one of her videos). I ended up sending it back. I think it was because I didn't get the correct shade and we all know that that can break the deal, which isn't fair to the foundation actually. I probably should try it again especially with summer on the horizon (84°today!).

    Very informative. I will buy both when I finally venture out, after 21st june unlock day. I am 64 with normal skin, after learning about skin care 5 years ago. I am slightly darker than you (No7 Warm Ivory) with broken capillaries both sides of nose & brown sunspots. So, I will use the Dior all over, but the MAC for just around my mouth & chin, as most other foundations settle there. I love your neutral eye makeup, so I will search your videos. Many thanks.

    I bought the Mac last year and have no regrets. If I need longevity I just powder my T zone lightly but my skin is on the dry side. I also like the colour which turned out to be perfect for me. I love that its dewy and natural looking but makes my skin look more even.

    *Hopefully this helps someone* If you have ever had breakouts with Mac foundation, any formula at all. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY on the face and body. It made me breakout so bad 😭. Years ago I used to wear Mac studio fix and it used to give me under the skin spots (I’m talking a good 6+ years ago). Mac customer service were amazing and issued a full refund after I sent them photos. Just and FYI.

      I'm really sorry for you, but why do you tell people not to try it? It's one of the best sellers, I can't imagine that's a general problem, depends on your skin, right? I never had any problems and I don't know anybody who did. You can get a sample at every mac counter, I'd say try before you buy but not put people off of it.

    • @BrionyHannahh

      @@mialovestarot Hi Mia, I didn’t tell people in general not to buy it. If you read my comment again I was advising if you have had breakouts from other Mac foundations, then be wary not to waste your money. They do not offer samples during COVID in the UK FYI. It’s likely they use the same ingredient that’s an irritant to some skin types that’s all 😝

    I used the Dior for quite some time. I never quite found the right shade though (think I was 1C or CR off the top of my head). So I think it's really insightful what you said about the shade range being more but also more difficult! That's my experience exactly! In fact, I've only ever returned a foundation in store once... and this was the one. I got matched at the shop (full face) and it was orange! Dior did swap it easily enough though, I have to says! X

    Hi Gemma I recently bought the Mac F&B now they released some paler shades and do like it, but I have very dry skin. I powder my nose and chin lightly mostly due to mask wearing, which helps a little with longevity. Dior does not make foundations for the pale skinned - it just doesn't. I have never ever been able to get a shade match from them and have therefore never bought their foundations, concealers, powders etc.
    The F&B isn't drying on me, but nor is it super hydrating tbh. That said it looks nice most of the day on me and doesn't emphasise dryness. I have rosacea and eczema, but like a light coverage foundation and using concealer where needed. Over all the skincare and spf it doesn't cause any irritation re fragrance. I don't do well with a ton of alcohol in makeup (or spf) as i am so dry, so I'm not too sad about the Dior shade range as it wouldn't probably work for me anyway. I think they're both decently priced for the amount of product you get. As for you - both look good lol. Best wishes.

  • @loriengelmann9240
    @loriengelmann9240 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Do I have to choose? They both look great! If I chose one for myself, I'd buy the MAC. I can never find a decent shade match at Dior. Everything looks orange on me. As for you, well they both obviously work. If you told me you could only have one, I'd say the Dior. Longevity, transfer resistant, beautiful on you. You can also add it to your BB cream and probably be at the MAC level of coverage and beauty. Thanks for this video!

    @biancahelberg2890 ปีที่แล้ว

    Both look amazing but I prefer the Mac ingredients wise. Alcohol and Essential Oils can wreak havoc on sensitive skin. I use the Mac with a gripping primer or even the Wet n Wild Impossible primer to extend wear as well as increase the coverage level. I also set it around the outer rim of my face to keep it from transfering onto my phone as much if I am bothered to do that that day.

  • @teridavidson8824

    I was banking on one of these to replace the Makeup Forever Waterblend Face & Body since that’s been recently discontinued. It’s my HG and has the sheer, dewiness of the Mac but is long wearing, blurring and transfer proof like the dior. The best of both worlds really and I’ve no idea what to go with once my bottles empty.

    I'm not sure which I like best. They both look the same to me but you are on video, may look different in person. Maybe I need to make a trip to England & see 😉. I've been using a serum liquid foundation from Llia, which reminds me ofbthe Mac & Dior, it has a semi-mat finish and I don't have to use a powder to set it.

  • @kimdickinson3063

    I just watched as I'm too nosey, even though I don't wear foundation often, maybe 5 times in summer less in winter, I do wear cc cream and have just got the Erborian cc cream, I'm hoping its enough, as I've stopped trying to cover my sunspot ( I'm no good with concealer either). So I'm embracing it and hopefully it will fade a bit more then won't be as noticeable anymore. I went to Doc's to see if I could get rid faster but as he said it took me 10 years of not wearing sunscreen after it came up so gonna take longer than a year to go so I decided I may as well embrace it as its going to be around for some time. Anyway I love watching these videos so keep up the good work, we all love you for doing this for us.❤❤ . As always stay safe xx 😘❤

    I love the Dior face and body! I'm 40 and have had such a hard time finding a foundation that looked good on my changing skin..and this looks amazing! I went from very oily skin to combo. I have dry areas now and fine lines too! Everything settled into the lines, pores and clung horribly to my dry spots. As long as I prep my skin with my moisturizer all over, then prime my t zone for my oily spots..this looks fresh and smooth all day long. I've worn it 18 hours and it looked so good I could have worn it longer! I do still have to blot about 3 times in a 14+hr day, but I expect that! This is a total win!

    I have Mac in the new lightest shade N0 and it is a bit too dark and yellow toned (I have fair cool tone skin and would be NW 10). I have Dior in N 0 and it is very fair but it matches the lightest areas of my face and neck. Dior is perfect for Summer and Mac for Winter. The Dior is great but the fragrance is too much and makes it hard to reach for it. I squeeze some on a palette and vent it a bit before applying.

Also, Mac is supposed to be able to be used on the body... how you can do that if it transfers so easily? you will have to check wherever you go if you are leaving streaks all over the place lol! • @mialovestarot
      @mialovestarot 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I absolutely agree. I have mature skin, and the Dior creeps into fine lines, sits in my pores and clings on to dryness. It makes me look older, whilst the Mac F&B really looks like a veil of dewy smootheness on my skin. The Mac doesn't last the whole day, but it fades gracefully and I ever so slightly powder nose/cheeks, as I find it too dewy in those areas. It's so individual to your skin obviously, I'd say get a sample. Especially considering how many unused foundations I collected over time, I should listen to my own advice, haha!

    I own both, the Mac is definitely my favourite. It is easy to apply (indeed use fingers!) and looks very natural. The Dior looks pretty dry on my face. The L'oreal freshwear that everyone used to rave about had the same effect on my skin so maybe it's just me... I sometimes mix them to get the best of both worlds.

      Same here! Both the Dior and the L'Oreal have alcohol in them, and I think that's what causes that. I avoid all foundations with alcohol in them now.

    I haven't used either of these but the mac would be my choice as I have dry skin. That said, the longevity and, for some occasions, the finish, I quite like the look the the Dior. Dilemmas Gemma 🤯
    I know! Mix them together, ta da!
    Like you, I actually liked both of these foundations on you. Oh dear, this is too problematic for my brain 😂🤣😂
    AND, I'm never going to be dousing my body with foundation. Why does mac call it the "face and body" foundation? It's a glowy, super transferable product! Surely it would transfer onto clothing. I'm totally baffled 🥴.
    Love ya, ❣🌸❣🌸❣

    Dior for some strange reason really likes the yellow in their foundation. I’m a neutral so yellow just doesn’t work for me. Been using Mac face and body for over 30 years, put it on and use your fingers to apply. It gets more beautiful with time on your face

      I’ve thought about that since day one! I tried extra on to get it through the day but yuk. I’ve also set it in place with Laura Mercier power. She has it down perfect. I asked once a long time ago so hooray, there are two of us. I’d like to know the pencil or power she uses because some pencils are to greasy or too dry.

      Maybe try the Maybelline tattoo liners (loooong lasting, no smudging, different colors) AND use eyelid primer under your eyes.
      I have extremely oily eyelids, so I always have to use a primer there. I put a tiny drop in the outer corner and under my eyes (at the lash line) and this helps a lot Worth a try?! Greetings from Germany, Sabine

      I'm 59, Rose, and going through the same thing. I did invest in the Hourglass Veil powder, which has help my undereyes look SO much better. I'm still on the hunt for a foundation. With mature skin, some people really like a dewy finish. I can't get used to leaving my skin "tacky" feeling, and the more powder I have to use all over the face the older I look. I have settled on finding a more matte foundation that won't settle into find lines, pores, or dry skin. The Nars matte foundation is one I'm considering. An influencer, Taylor Wynn, did a video on her everyday makeup look and used this product! I hope you can find something that works for you!
