ACURA TSX PCV Valve & EGR Plate: A Simple Overview

- I recently had some rough idle on my 2005 Acura TSX that wouldn't go away. It usually goes away after I do an oil change but it has been persistent for over a year. I decided to do some maintenance on my PCV valve and I am very happy with the results.
Other variants of the Honda K series engine do include an EGR valve that you need to clean. In this case the K24 on the TSX does not have an EGR valve, only the EGR plate.
The part number for the OEM PCV valve for the TSX is: 17130-RBB-A01
Be careful buying counterfeit OEM parts on eBay.
It's best to buy it from the dealer. Here is a link to where I bought mine from the dealer online oemacuraparts : www.oemacurapa...

Thanks!
Thank you! 🙏🏼
Dude thank you so much for this video
Happy to help! =)
definitely doing this to my tsx today!! or tomorrow need to buy carb cleaner
Good luck! =)
do you have any Info on doing an EGR delete for a 2007 honda accord?
No I don't have any info on that.
Also my tsx runs rough on idle and especially when it’s in drive or reverse and sitting at a red light. Once I’m driving it feels fine or decent. Thanks in Advance.
I would check the engine and transmissions mounts. If all the mounts are solid then look into engine tuneup things like oil change, transmission fluid change, air filter, cleaning throttle body, PCV valve + EGR cleaning, spark plugs.
@@ChavezDIY Thank you.. I changed the motor mounts but they are not oem. Does that matter?
@@greatjuankenobi217yes it does matter. the people that used aftermarket mounts have vibration issues. It's not the same quality as OEM.
@@ChavezDIY So you think that is my main culprit? The aftermarket mounts have just failed or never worked properly? It’s my work car. If I buy oem motor mounts that should resolve my vibration issues? Thank you sir!!
@@greatjuankenobi217 I have no personal experience using aftermarket mounts. I'm just basing this on what other people say online after using aftermarket mounts. I used OEM mounts when I changed my mounts and I don't have any vibration issues. The only rough idle that I had on my car recently was solved with the PCV and EGR plate cleaning. You will have to do a google search on the brand of mounts you used and whether other people have vibrations after using them. You can search for "tsx aftermarket mounts vibrations" and see what you find. Before you spend money on OEM mounts you can have a mechanic inspect your car and see what they say. The OEM mounts are expensive, so you have to decide whether its worth it considering the age of your vehicle. If you were going to try OEM mounts, do one mount at a time and see how the car responds with each one that you change. I would start with the front and rear engine mounts first before any other mount because those have the most significant dampening effect on the engine. The front engine mount is filled with fluid and also has a vacuum line that goes under it. Another idea is to sign up for LKQ pick your part (or your local salvage yard) and check their inventory for TSX and cars with similar engine like the honda Accord for those same years and see if you can find OEM mounts. Change the front or rear first and see if that changes anything.
What manual do you use for this replacement?
2004-2005 Acura TSX OEM Service Manual. It's the repair manual from Acura. I bought it many years ago on eBay for about $90 and it has been worth every penny.
@@ChavezDIYThank you!
