- Nassau Bahamas and specifically Blue Lagoon Island is one of the best excursions when visiting Nassau Bahamas. There is so much to see and do on Blue Lagoon Island and I am going to give you a complete review. This virtual tour will take you from the beginning of the Island to the end of the island and everything in between.
Blue Lagoon is located on Salt Cay which is about a 20-25 minute boat road from downtown Nassau. And it is a beautiful ride past the Atlantis Hotel and homes along the shore of Nassau. It is a must stop whether you are staying in Nassau or cruising into port on a cruise ship.

This place is amazing I just got back 3 days ago. Paradise on earth. They brought the food to us and bahama mama's all day as we laid on our beach chairs by the water. Amazing experience

FYI the private beach that he shows in this video is no longer there. It was destroyed by a hurricane. We were there in Nov 2022. Hope they can get that side of the island 🏝 back up and running soon!

We were just there in Nov, and loved it! We picked the adult side!!! We can not wait to go back! It is very safe!!! You will feel so comfortable, and have a blast!! You can walk on the bridge to watch the dolphins jump and do tricks without doing the excusion!

I’m going with my husband and 5YO I want to walk around the island , I don’t want to stay put . So this is helpful . I have the 10:30 excursion but I’m not sure if we are going to have time to explore the markets in Nassau . 😢
Just got back from cruise today. Was back in the Bahamas so much more coming. Blue lagoon is a must if you never been there. After blue lagoon you probably get back to port by like 3. You should have some time to walk Nassau but some ships pull out earlier. I have many videos on Nassau so may give you some ideas. I Want to here about it when you get back🛳🛳👍👍♥️♥️😎😎⛱⛱
WOW... Amazing Video!!! We are going to cruise to the Bahamas and we are thinking about the shore excursion to the blue lagoon, but it has a duration of 4 hr excursion, and we wanna stay longer. do you know if there are ferries every hour to go the island and back to ship port?
Book the excursion early. Depending on ship there may be an early time and later time. I think there is like 2 time to go back. One midday and then the last call back. It is a great time and you will love it there. Thanks for comments. I'll be back in May. Safe travels. ⛱⛱😎😎♥️♥️
It's me again - heading down May 1 on the Legend. Is the dolphin area near where you first get off at the dock? I'm thinking we will just stay in that area and get situated rather than the VIP area. I wish i was going. Im going the following week. Doing something totally unique in Nassau stay tuned for that. When you get off boat the dolphin area is right there when get off boat. That's a great question and im sure it did since 30 minutes boat ride. But I didn't use it so can't say for sure. There are several ferries so may depend which one you get on. 😎😎

You can book when get to Bahamas but the tour is very popular and may get sold out. I would check your cruises excursions because sometimes they have an early time and later time. I'm going on Royal Caribbean. I'd like to do dolphin encounter. Does that include lunch? Or do I have to buy the blue lagoon & beach break as well?
We did the dolphin encounter and that included lunch with carnival. Just check with you cruise line as it may be different. But the dolphin encounter does include the beach and all the amenities of the island. You will have so much fun there.

At the time we went out was 89 per person on Carnival and that included lunch. You can logon th o Carnival and book early it will get filled up. You want to go as early as possible.👍👍🏖🏖😎😎

That little beach is public also. We have going over many times. We like calmer water. In the video if you go past the restaurant past that little beach and walk up trail before you get to bridge there is a bar on the left is always private too. Not many people walk up that way either. Hello again. Where do you meet for the transportation to Blue Lagoon? We are looking into the VIP area from Carnival's adult only. How far minute wise would you estimate to that area?
Right when you get off the ship. The blue lagoon boat pulls right up to your ship. When you get to blue lagoon it is about 10 minute walk. But it's flat and scenic walk.. you will love blue lagoon. I want to hear about it when you get back. Have fun. 😁😁😁👍👍👍👍🛳🛳🛳
Can you take a boat back to Nassau at anytime during your visit or only designated time that have going straight back to the ship. Also can you go on the boat only for a fee and pay for activities there? I see the dolphin stuff for $29 there but a cruise line wants $150+ to add the excursion
There are designated return times. Like 2 of them. If there is a cruise ship in port I think you have to book through the cruise line. I am not sure you can book private unless you are staying at a hotel in Nassau.

Yes that would be included with your price of the ticket to get there.
These videos are very helpful. We're trying to choose between Balmoral and Blue Lagoon. So with Blue Lagoon we can choose the family pack and just walk to the other beaches and sit over there? I like that there's more ground to see at Blue Lagoon, but we are mainly seeking a nice beach to swim in, good food, and drinks.

No, if you book the family side you have to stay on the family side. The adult side ppl have different wrist bands for ppl who book the adult side. Just a heads up! The adult side comes with a party side, and a relaxing side! You get free lunch, and free bahama Mamas all day with the adult side package we got.

You will love it. I think we paid 79 through cruise ship and that included lunch.

Yes. Then they have different packages if want to swim with dolphins or stingrays. That does include lunch atleast on carnival.. 👍👍😁😁
Can person using mobility scooter get on the ferry?
Oh yes. And the island even has wheelchairs that are accessible to the lagoon water and wheel chair accessible restrooms.

Depends on cruise line and how long your ship is in port. Each cruise line Is different but when we went to blue lagoon there were 2 times you could come back. Like 1 and 3. But changes

Don't think so.... rough outside the lagoon and not allowed in the lagoon.

Thanks for posting! Do you remember if you had to take a specific ferry back to your ship, or could you take a later one if you chose? We have booked an excursion to Blue Lagoon, and the cruise planner says it’s a 4 hour excursion, which would get us back to the ship around noon. We don’t leave Nassau until 6, so I’d like to stay for another hour or two if possible!
That seems early to come back. I think ours was 230. But each ship may be different. If i remember there were 2 time you could come back noon and 230. You'll be able to see if later one when checking in for excursion or when you get to blue lagoon.
Do you pay to go on the side where the Dolphins are?

So for the blue lagoon is there a lot of fish there? I’m going in a couple months and have read some pretty bad reviews and they said you can’t snorkel there without buying their gear. Is that true? They also say they have a coral reef with tons of fish but haven’t really seen that. Hopefully won’t have to pay extra for that.
Thanks for watching and please subscribe. Ive Used my own floaties and snorkel gear there many times. Can't imagine they can enforce that. No coral reef in the lagoon. It is downright paradise there. There may be a reef behind the restaurant where i showed you that no one goes. But the lagoon is all sand and you will see some fish but they will not bother you. Yes they are extra at Blue Lagoon unless you buy the package on the excursion that includes that.

You are correct however.....The Bahamas are located north of the Greater Antilles and southeast of Florida, technically the location of the Bahamas is in the North Atlantic Ocean, and not in the Caribbean, yet sometimes the Bahamas are encompassed as being......Islands of the Caribbean.

Thank you so much. When you get off the boat and walking across dock look left as far as can see and will see that beach. You can walk up the beach or lagoon or take the path on left. go past shops restaurant and bathrooms and when you see bar on left tucked back in or the sign in video you are there. Explore the island its fun and beautiful. I am not sure about the clamshells there i am guessing you pay for them on island. No option to pay from cruise ship.
