Suzuki LTZ250 QuadSport Tune Up - Carburetor Cleaning and Valve Adjustment

Lets get this old Suzuki running perfect. I remove the carb, clean it up and then adjust the valves to make sure the LTZ250 is running like new again. Awesome simple quad to work on, don't take it to the dealer when you can watch a video and learn how to do it yourself.

I have a 06 Suzuki ltz 250 it clicks when trying to start it I have a new battery what could be wrong with it

@@williamgammons9389 possibly the starter relay? That’s where I would look first, you can jump the relay with a screwdriver, if you have never done that look up some videos.

It looks like I have a brand new carb on mine but my air filter was red and is now basically black and when I hit throttle it dies out is the air filter why?

If it's one of those cheap aftermarket carburetors, it's likely jetted wrong, and the internal passages are all the wrong size. They rarely work well. Start with cleaning and oiling the air filter first, then see if you can figure out the carburetor jetting.

Thank you for replying so soon, also I have question so we were trying to bumpstart it when it was running fine and then something broke near the rear axle when I put it in gear the rod connecting to the cam shaft stops spinning and makes a clicking/grinding noise.

Hello, excuse me for my English I am French I have the same quad as you and when I accelerate it chokes even though the carburetor is perfect and the valve adjustment is done, did you know where it could come from?

Your English is excellent, much better than my French. I would start with checking the air filter, go through the carburetor one more time as well. Check the spark plug. If you feel confident all that is good, it’s going to be more troubleshooting. Compression check, verify timing, check ignition/charging system. Good luck.

Do you mean it doesn’t want to idle? What carburetor did you get? Lots of the cheaper aftermarket ones are just ok, not great. A clean stock one is obviously the best choice.

It's pretty difficult to tell what's happening with your quad without seeing it. Get a service manual and start doing some troubleshooting, best advice I can give through here.
