I finally got around to watching this with my mom! I’m home sick from work, and she’s hanging out with me. This is great, chill, feel-good content, with the same sort of vibes of Baumgartner Restoration!
As always, another amazing build. Not just for the complexity of the piece, but the process to create it. And the thinking on the fly to correct mistakes so 99% of people would never know. I appreciate your vibe - you're here to build, to grow your experience with new ideas and ways to creating them, and not concerned with engagement, subscribers, likes, or SEO. Always refreshing to watch a video where the creator is as genuinely invested in the raw skill and creativity, as the audience. Bravo!
There’s nothing wrong with the thickness of the top, it’s fine. Obviously the proportions were weird on the old table, but to me it looks like the right solution was always to make the top bigger, not necessarily thicker.
Always appreciate your honesty frank… and thanks for teaching us to, even though you plan so many times to do it right, you still provision the material for the case on which you do it wrong. So wise. Lot to take away from this lesson. Thank you!

Immediately before watching this video, I had watched one about the complexity of Tesla Plaid electric motors. They are apparently engineering masterpieces. It seems to me that this table is not too far behind. Even allowing for the CNC machine, there are so many ways this could have gone 'irretrievably' wrong. In awe, as always Frank.
You seem really good at reproducing Escher's art and it looks real good on top of it. Maybe try reproducing some of his other works as wall hangings. I am sure that there will be a market for once offs.

Plus tard, pour un concours je vous admiré pendant que vous fabriquiez une boîte à outils dont le tiroir était équipé de rouages en bois. Bien sûr j'ai admiré tous les objets en bois tourné que vous avez réalisé pendant toutew ces années y compris cette Lune et cette planète Mars que vous ne trouvez pas parfaites ( je suis française et même si je maîtrise assez bien votre langue j'ai quelques difficultés avec les termes techniques, c'est d'ailleurs pour cette raison que je vous adresse ce commentaire en français, veuillez m'en excuser) . His video is named making an EPIC £20000 machine part 4, around the 38 minute mark he starts his "final" design. Thanks again for sharing your projects with us all.

Hey, that turned out great! I was on your wife’s side about how much bigger I thought it needed to be, but now seeing the finished piece I think you got it just right for the space. I should have more faith in you by now! 😅
Beautiful piece. Would look great on a wall. That would drive me crazy as a coffee table. The graphic is awesome, but so close and large it's ... overstimulation. Ahh, it'll be covered with stuff soon enough though.
I wonder if you could use the laser to cut through the onion skin left when you don't cut all the way through the inlay pieces (instead of having to run them through the bandsaw). I've never seen anyone do that, though perhaps many have done this already. Would just want to vacuum out the saw dust first to ensure you don't start a fire. Would be nice to save some time on projects with so many parts - assuming the laser is able to focus from the distance of the thickness of the material.
I appreciate sharing that simple nugget of wisdom: "it's only time". I think I needed to hear that.

I was trying to figure out how you were going to make the birds etc. by hand expecting to see a remarkable carving skill but cnc did it.
