I love that Homer's "bed goes up" and "bed goes down" have become a running gag on the CNC. Puts a smile on my face every time. :D The bowl looks awesome. I like the more organic looking bowl rim you mention at the end. It fits the randomly placed spikes very well in my opinion.
That's very unique. Something completely different. The CNC table really opens up a whole new world of possibilities. All that hand forming though, wow that's some work. Sure turned out beautiful.
This one feels much more spiky than the earlier one which felt more like udders than spikes. Both are beautiful and thank you for sharing these with us!
As a new turner, the spikes on the thumbnail were enough to give me pause. I'm like "Oh...I have to see this!" Especially the joints...that one had me perplexed. I was not disappointed. I have seen more creativity in the past 5 years on TH-cam in wood working than I have in the past 30 of actual participation...unreal. Thanks for sharing. Beautiful.
Certainly has a neat and unusual look. Visually, the piece has a fair amount of tension, and even "danger." It's the bowl for items you don't want other people to ever touch.
Creating the joints like that to expose them when carved really does add to the spikes and makes them feel connected to the bowl. Seriously so cool and impressive
Scary on that catch. Happened to me on a cherry bowl. Days later I finally found that chunk on top of a row of clamps about 7 feet off the floor. Never saw it... Love all your wild creations BTW.
I think the edge just adds to the organic shape of it - some pieces can seem "too refined" and I think you got the balance right with this one even if it was a happy accident.
Frank u are something else with turning and cnc work .... Ur the one I blame for me getting a cnc..🤣🤣 keep it up brother as always another awesome project......
Really nice project. A thought I had for if you do another would be to have the plug ends of the spikes go all the way through the bowl to make an inner design.
Using the film footage to calculate the trajectory of the missing part …. So slick!
Your cinematography is remarkable!

As a long time viewer Its exciting to see bowls you turned in 2018 finally getting used for projects in 2024.
I appreciate your commitment to the bed goes up/down thing. You know, if you somehow miss that in a future video, people are going to roast you. 😄
Puts a little smile on my face every time.
The new range of Norse God helmets are coming along nicely.
Those first few seconds had me thinking you'd go on with "now let's make a bowl with spikes on the inside"
You’re giving his ideas
That is so cursed 😅
I love that
That would also be cool!
Wow those stop motion segments must have taken forever! I wonder which took longer between that and the actual piece.
That's what I was thinking, too. He puts so much effort into each of these videos.
bed-goes-up bed-goes-down running gag will never, ever get old 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Conker shell bowl. Gorgeous
This is awesome. I could totally see you making the blue shell from Mario Kart out of purple heart.
I like the look of the spike connections.
FRANK!!! I found you again after 7 years, I watched a lot of your wood turning videos back then and I finally recently got a small lathe
Love it1 Looks like half a horse chestnut! - you could carve a conker to sit in it!
Looks very cool! It would be aseome as well to see the joints on the inside of the bowl. As a patern.
There is not one day that I am not astonished with your work creating stunning pieces of art. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
That's very unique. Something completely different. The CNC table really opens up a whole new world of possibilities.
All that hand forming though, wow that's some work. Sure turned out beautiful.
Your stop-motion stuff makes me smile. 😊
Museum worthy. Thanks Frank
I love how the exposed joints and organic form really contrast nicely!!! That’s such a cool evolution from the first spiked bowl!
This one feels much more spiky than the earlier one which felt more like udders than spikes.

How wonderful. Homers back!
keep em coming Frank. You are awesome.
Looks good ❤. Glad you survived the accident 🙏
You have incredible ideas and skills...👍👍👍
Amazing Frank
Before you started carving it looked like a helmet for The Thinker.
Love all your work. Especially the stop motion stuff.
Frank, I love the Homer Simpson bit with the CNC bed. Please never stop doing that
Certainly has a neat and unusual look. Visually, the piece has a fair amount of tension, and even "danger." It's the bowl for items you don't want other people to ever touch.

The rough hewn look at 9:40 is actually a pretty cool aesthetic.
That’s going to be a one of a kind piece...wild and wacky.
Klingon fine furniture. Very cool looking!
It just amazes me how you execute the ideas that pop into your head. And they are brilliant!
Thank you very much for your cinematography and skill with woodworking. Love your videos
Saw a little homage to Ray Harryhausens stop motion technique there.
That pattern would make a cool orange slice bowl!
Very cool.
Scary on that catch. Happened to me on a cherry bowl. Days later I finally found that chunk on top of a row of clamps about 7 feet off the floor. Never saw it... Love all your wild creations BTW.
The joints are great!
Frank you are an artist exploring form, thank you
You now need to make the CONKER that sits in that massive half shell. HE WILL KING OF ALL THE CONKERS
Howdy from Scotland!
That came out really, really nice. Great job Frank!
I think it turned out pretty neat as well!
As always a nice concept and a nice result. Love your imagination.
Pretty neat indeed, Thanks Frank

What a clever man you are.
:08 - Anybody ever been to a dairy farm? ?? ??? Yet another GREAT project Frank! !! !!!
Very innovative Frank,thank you.
Most excellent Frank. It would look great on your kitchen counter with fruit in it!
I just bought that same Vevor cutting tool. I really like it.
It's easy to forget the amount of time that must go into making those stop-motion scenes.
Very cool! Could you use the CNC to remove the bulk off the spikes too? It may cause a drawn out awkward workflow though
Frank u are something else with turning and cnc work .... Ur the one I blame for me getting a cnc..🤣🤣 keep it up brother as always another awesome project......
Très joli bravo Frank👍
Another AMAZING Mastercrafted Design By Frank !!!! Wonderful work!
That thing would make a super-cool tongue drum. A tongue drum is something you might get a kick out of making, now that I think about it.
Great to see you back Frank!!!
Incredible, Frank! All I can think of is Bowser from Super Mario!
That bowl is on point! 😜
That's beautiful.
Beautiful piece of work 👍👍
Amazing work, Frank! It turned out lovely! 😃
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
It’s beautiful. You’re right that the rim could be a bit more refined, but overall it’s amazing.
I love it. Nicely done.
That's ART!!! ❤❤❤
Pretty cool, Frank
Such an interesting design. Reminds me of a horse chestnut. Thanks for the great videos. 8-)
Pure genius ! well worth the effort. thks
It looks like the seed pod of some giant flower!
Outstanding and cool.
What a nice and fun bowl :)
Incredible work Frank!
Gorgeous
just wow.
Really nice project. A thought I had for if you do another would be to have the plug ends of the spikes go all the way through the bowl to make an inner design.
Nice…. Thanks for sharing!
This is art
Very cool great job
Great work as always Frank, now that is a bowl you don't want the wife to throw at you 😊
Ouch!
0:23 Bowser shell😂
Pretty neat indeed!
lets go new video
I feel like Nintendo's gonna sue you. xD
Also, I never get tired of the "bed goes up, bed goes down." :D
I looks like an alien nut husk. Very cool!
Nice stop action
Impressive bowl.
If you do it again, you can try making the top of the tangs in a different type of wood.
Thanks Frank
Every nice tool I have I say "I wish I’d gotten this sooner "
Looks great. I was shocked you didn't write a program for the CNC to carve the spikes.
Bowser's Shell amirite? Nice vid Frank! :D
Those fancy shaped tabs, in the end, just looked rectangular. But still cool.
It does look really neat! But it’s also a bowl of nightmares 😂
Looks like a good Halloween candy bowl!
That's a good idea
@@frankmakes I'm thinking a yearly series like the Christmas ornament! I'm sure you can come up with some awesome spooky bowls!
makes me want to pick chestnuts in my local forest to grill them.... 🤤
Danger bowl!!
I need a bowl like this for my Cap'n Crunch...
