This is a band that could be listened to WITHOUT earplugs...their MUSIC is what mattered. And they had MINIMUM bad habits (basically, only some drinking.) My all-around fave band!

I thought it was interesting in the VH1 Bands Reunited show where they talked about the fact that when they went in the studio to record Rev It Up it wasn't the same because they had lots of people in the studio and outside writers whereas the first album it was just the band recording the album. This band went through a lot. It all went to hell when the band wanted to add a 5th member to share guitar duties with Jan. Bad move. No more original lineup of Vixen. Just before Jan died they were planning a reunion tour. It would of been interesting to see if they would of got along or not. Guess we will never know!
I saw these gurls in live at Rock City Nottingham in 1988, expecting I'll be honest a girly wirly bimbos.....was I and every other man in that audience so wrong!!!!....These women ROCK!, they took tough hardened audience and had by the end of the gig had us roaring for the three well deserved encores.....Roxy the drummer I still have dreams about.....not telling lol...all I can say the videos don't do them justice....such a shame they never held it together because they should have been huge

Blame the fight between then-management (Left Bank) and EMI Records for the demise of this INCREDIBLE band......When will the entertainment business realize,that ARTISTRY COMES FIRST?? So, business can't interfere with it.
Think that VIXEN's success was messed with by an argument between EMI and their then- management, Left Bank Management. "Women is losers", sang Janis Joplin. What would have happened if Hollywood types hadn't derailed the career of this fine band??
It's OK now. Must have been this tricky library computer....Only 4 of them have audio installed. Ironically,in concert,VIXEN was not overpoweringly loud...they let the music do the talking! Which is more than I can say for most bands....
