@@celleron8507 Dear Celleron, it appears that you are very excited (shouting that much!?). I suggest to train KarateDo techniques more and study logic as well. That way may lead you to tranquility and reasonable discourse. I am curious to learn about your learned assessment of the same performances (without shouting please…)
I agree with Ao losing the match. I don't agree 100% on your counts tho, I can resume my thinking by saying this - Aka is doing Karate-Do, Ao is making a performance, not Karate. Ao's Kata is only putting up a show with little to none practical use, as Aka is showing a lot more depth and understanding of Karate basis and Kihon, as well as practical use of the right movements
Athletic performance is amazing. I don't understand how Red can miss one count and sometimes not be focused enough on a technique so the next technique can be done quickly. Blue missed 4 counts at the beginning of the kata. I think we are still giving too much emphasis on athletic performance.
We practice Rohai, the form Red demonstrated. I don’t understand some of his movement but very close to ours. His high section knife hand cross block with back of his hands together is odd to me, our version is with knife hands in a v , as if catching opponents arm wrist in the ascending v, then applying a wrist twisting technique. Otherwise Red performance is impressive and practical I cannot say that his competitor’s form , which we do not do any version of that one no clue to the name, is applicable to real defense I could not visualize the buckai , such as Blue’s dropping low roundhouse kicks looked pretty but weak. I liked Rohai by red better
I will not deviate from the traditions of the Shotokan Katas I was trained, and tough by the JKA/ AJKA Standards. You can still be dynamic, with full control of the expansion, and contraction of each technique, without putting emphasis on accelerated speed, and timing. Not saying these Gentleman are not credible athletes, but I guess this is the new format in different countries.
The Blue Unsu Kata was more focused and it was a demonstration of what the moves should actually be in real time when you are being attacked something I think that should be done more in competition. Nobody wants to see the slow versions.
I have noticed that Enes (Ao) punches his gi to make snap effect. Do refs take away points for that or is that helpful to score more points? Im asking only for competitions, I know otherwise its not a good trait.
The guy in blue if you watch in slow motion was putting so much emphasis on speed it was a bit sloppy ,wasn't even finishing the technique red should have won
Can someone please explain to me why is Kazumasa Moto (and other top-tier kata performers) stomping? I was taught that stomping is a bad thing, also learned the same thing from many other sources and masters. Yet, all of the best karatekas make pretty loud sounds while transitioning from stances... Thanks!
So many things are wrong with Blue. It’s amazing how he (and those that taught him this kata) have changed this kata. For example before the tate shuto and jump. He does Kage Tsuki / that would be wrong it should be Gyaku Tsuki. Like this there are a lot of technically wrong movements in the kata. This I think happens when you break away from the source (Japan) and start doing your own thing. Regardless I agree with the other comments too much emphasis put on athletic performance. I wonder if where the tournament took place has something to do with it?🤔
Exactly . Who said you should change it ?? I’m 50 years it will change even more because some Sensei thought it should be different. SMH …. You don’t have to agree, but I like the Japanese version of this kata. I must be biased because my Honbu is in Japan.

Hi! They are stomping because when you stomping your kata looks more powerful.
@@БеляшДуракОнлайн They definitely do make kata look more powerful, but are there point deductions for stomping or is it allowed?
I don’t think he’s stomping on purpose, it’s just that the movement is powerful and created the stomping sound simultaneously
