    Those old Oliver’s were good ol tractors! Didn’t see much of them in western Kansas, but the ones I did see were hard workers!!

      That's for sure Daniel. There were some around in my area but not to many. They are some great tractors though. This one is no exception lol.

    My Dad had a Hart Parr 28-44 back in the fifties, must be the forerunner of the 99, looked just like your 99. We had two Case pull type plows, a three bottom and a two bottom. He went ahead of me with the 28-44 and the three bottom, and I followed with the WD and two bottom. I think I was six years old. Plowed a lot of ground that way.

      I don't know alot about the history of Oliver, this is the 1st one that's been on the farm. I was told the 28 was the little brother of the 99 what ever that means 😆 prolly that it was the forerunner to the 99 or the 90 maybe?
      I love hearing the old farming stories Ted. I've been seting up an annual plow day every spring, next year I'll have the 99 plowing and a wd 45 I make sure to get you some shots of them running together 99 1st 😆
      Unless your close your always welcome to come and watch in person or even drive a tractor if you would like we've got more plows and tractors than we have drivers.

      Looks like your last comment disappeared all I got to read was that you go to plow days, but it's not on TH-cam when I try to go read it.

    Man yeah!!! That thing grunts!! Now you have my curiosity up, there was a young guy local that used to pull one just like that, except I swear it was a hart parr, or something like that. It was very dark green, but looked exactly like that one!! I see many more pulls in the future with that thing!! Thank you for bringing us along, really enjoyed seeing that thing go.feom.auction to the pull!! Did great!!

      Nelson. You are probably correct. Oliver, and Hart Parr merged. I don't recall who was the senior partner.
      Production was in Charles City Iowa.
      They have a nice museum in Charles City.

      Thankyou my friend for following the story here, I bet it was a hart Parr 90 was the same tractor but made to run on the crap gas, then the 99 came with a high compression head and it had to have at least 70 octane had in it, also the 1828 looks almost the same but it's lie the little brother of the 90/99. I've been reading up on them a bunch lately if you can't tell 😆

    • @TimothyFluegel
      @TimothyFluegel  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@brycewiborg8095 it would have been a 90 from what I've been reading, its the same tractor with a low compression head the 99 came with the high octane switch Oliver did.

      I bet so 😆 Oliver is the number 2 brand around here, all of us have been around them growing up and us brothers were around the same ones dad was when he was growing up 😆 and my middle name is acually Oliver so.... it seems fitting that it's here. The old man that ran the Oliver's was lie another grandfather to me growing up so it's kinda a tribute to him. Dad always wanted an 88 for that reason but the 99 is cooler if ya ask me 😆

    Had to take a break, someone sent me a video I had to watch.. BTW, I shared it to my community page 👍
    Ol' Olly did great!! And she had one hand tied behind her back.. imagine how she'll do with good clean fuel😁
    And a new manifold!! (You are capable of fabricating your own..
    I've never made one quite like that, but a few very similar. Might even be able to repair that one.. ES70 and CO2 don't care what the materials are, as long as they're derived from iron ore😁

      Awesome, I don't get a social TH-cam until I hit 1000 lol I would have done the same thing with that video. 👍👍👍👍
      I'm gonna run some aviation fuel in her next pull and lie I said tune it up and clean the gas system. I don't know alot about mags but I guess after sitting a long time its good to remagnitize them?? This is the 1st May I've been around even our older allis have distributors on them.
      I'll have to leave it up to dad if we fix it or if he wants a good looking one on there 😆 I think he wants it to be a show tractor so I'm guessing he'll want the new one but you know me I'm not it wouldn't bother me to fix it would be another conversation point at the shows and pulls, and fun telling people about it really lol

    I kept thinking, is he gonna remember which side that foot clutch is on.....I’m guessing the confusion of which gear you’re in is because the shift pattern isn’t marked?
    Thanks for the video, Olly did good!

    • @TimothyFluegel
      @TimothyFluegel  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No there's a shift pattern, but all the Oliver guys there said it shouldn't go over 3mph in 1st and I was going 3.4 at the start of the pull. And the gears are so close they had me 2md guessing myself, the 1st time I just didn't pay enough attention and got it into 3rd,
      I was wondering the same thing about the foot clutch 😆 as it was lugging down I just kept telling myself, right side clutch, right side clutch 😆 thankyou for watching.
