Olga, you have out done yourself. I love the variety of configurations you are bringing us with this gorgeous flower stitch. You are also a wonderful teacher. You move along at the right pace and your instructions are clear. Thank you for sharing your amazing talent with us.
I saw her other video where she did the summer blouse, she used this pattern as one of the parts of the blouse. She mentioned she used 11 multiples + 9. For me, 11 + 7 would suffice. To those wondering how many multiples required for this project, I hope this helps 😊
Hi, I just agree too! I think the latest flower stitch shawls you've put together are some of the most breathtaking and gorgeous patterns , I have ever seen! Really magically dreamy and yet very stitchable all at once!!
Thank you so much! I combined those flower stitches and made myself a gorgeous summer blouse. I don't know if you've seen it. Just in case, it's here: th-cam.com/video/dkD4AYnWFrs/w-d-xo.html
Olga you have done a fantastic job in demonstrating how this pattern has to be done. You have simplified this pattern which seemed to be so complicated. I have done many of your patterns and found them very easy. Thank you so much. Will keep on following you.
I am wanting to make my daughter a wedding shawl to help her as her wedding is next October. I wish the actual pattern were available to download. I do not necessarily understand how many stitches I need for the foundation to start this project. Can you assist me please?
273 chains gave her about 14 inches (is what it seems like based on the description in the beginning) there's gonna be some math and guess work involved but if you need it wider than 14 inches, double it??? That's my plan.... using this as a bridal cape pattern as well and I need at least 30 inches 🤷🏿♀️ if I figure it out I'll try and come back to give some details
Mines turned out beautifully as a table runner. I wanted to make it as a head covering but the wool I used was to heavy probably have to use a fingering yarn. Love the pattern so happy I purchased it. Although I needed to half the flowers at the end but still turned out beautiful!

Same with me, I don't get fingers or wrist pains. Occasionally I might get a sore neck or back if I crochet in the same positive for too long, but I usually crochet in small intervals of time.

Olga you do such beautiful intricate crochet work. You did state that you would leave the multiple for this stitch in the description. The only thing I found was the multiple that you started your sample with and the multiple that you did your scarf/ shawl with. Was wondering if you could share the actual multiple of this beautiful stitch?
The shawl is magnificent! If you decide to make a summer top with this pattern, will you give us a tutorial for it, a well? Also, I'm not sure how to ask this question... Hmm, in the second row of the 4 flowers (from the tutorial) is there a way to start another flower? There would be less lace and more flowers. Then, its might cover better as a top. Does that make sense? The flowers would have to connect in some places. I wish I could sit down with you so I could show you what I'm thinking. 🤔 I hope I described it enough for you to understand what I'm asking. Thank you for the tutorial and whether you keep the shawl or take it out and make your top, I know it's something you will enjoy and be proud to wear. You do such beautiful work! ❤️🧶 Blessing to you and as always, I'm praying for the people in Ukraine. ❤️
Yes, if my summer blouse turns out the way I want it, I will make a video! I think I know what you mean by making the crochet fabric be less lace and more flowers, but I can't really think of how to and where work that extra flower. It would be wonderful to sit down together, have some tea, share ideas/visions on crochet and work it out together!
Hello Olga! Thank you for sharing this lovely pattern of yours! I’m so appreciative of your generosity! I have encountered a problem with the length. I started off with 90 inches in chain, then it just shrunk each row after the first row of flowers. Why is that? Please help; thank you.
Do you mean the entire piece shrunk or do you mean it's getting shorter with each additional row of flowers (and the piece has a shape of a trapezoid)? If it's the formal, it should go back to the original length after you block it. If it's the latter, it means you are losing stitches in each row.
It's a bit too full of holes for a blouse, if you ask me, but it would make a nice vest. Have the two sides of the front in the flowery stitches and do the back of the vest in the slotted rows that you started with. Whaddya think?
@@OlgaPoltava well then I know I have good taste, if you like it too. Edit: I just had a "duh" moment! As a blouse, one could wear or attach an inner shell of unbleached muslin or dyed to match the yarn bleached muslin in a thin gauzy weight, just to hide the bra a bit more than just trying to wear a skin -toned bra color. You can't always find one that fits well, that doesn't look industrial enough to be a compliment to a lacy blouse, and if you're fat, who wants to see fat rolls through a lacy yarn blouse? I don't want to see my own, much less others'.
Absolutely gorgeous 😍 I love it however I don't know how you did the first rows. I don't know how to read patterns 😢😪😭. Will you kindly show us 🙏. Sending hugs from CapeTown South Africa
I think, that if you do a sample size like she had done here, you need to chain 53 and then starting in the 2nd chain from your hook, do 51 double crochets. next row will be double crochet, chain 1 then double crochet, then the 3rd row is another 51 double crochets. If you're not sure, try doing a sample first then go for the larger projects. I wish I did that more often when starting, as I'd have less frustrations with my early work. I'm still poor at reading patterns so I understand where you're coming from. When you do the full size like Olga has done, she's done 273 chains and 271 double crochets. ..... I think I'm right in my calculations, but if I'm wrong I hope some one corrects my maths before I try my sample :D
Hi Bernardete, Mireah wrote down exactly what I did in the first three rows. But also in my previous video, I did the first three rows exactly the same as here (except that the amount of chains and stitches was different). th-cam.com/video/w5s9R-hT1is/w-d-xo.html
The only way I could think of is making a couple of rows of flowers, then a couple of rows with double crochets, increasing the stitch count in the second row. Then again a few rows of flowers, and a few rows of dc increasing the stitch count.
I know that I found a video of this pattern of yours where you did all of it from the beginning, creating the first row of chains & all 3 rows after of double crochets, & double crochets with 1 space skipped in between, then the 3rd row of double crochets, but now I can't find it. Can you send me the link to that please?
Hello ma'am... Can u tell me how to end the third row of unfinished flowers. I understood we do like the beginning and instead of skip 2 dc we work inside the 3rd ch of ch 5 space of flowers, but how to end this row?
FYI In your written instructions (which I purchased) it states for Row 4; after you finish all 9 un-tr you have: ch4 and “tr2” vs the “un-tr2” in the video. The same is true for Row 5. You write (tr3`tog,ch1) pull tight, ch5, tr3-tog,ch1. the tr3 should all be un-tr3. I am just on Row 5 so I don’t know if this is true throughout the rest of the written instructions.
The first row is a row of double crochets in each chain. The second row is double crochet, one chain, skip one chain, then repeat. The third row is a row of double crochets in each stitch and each chain. You can check out this tutorial, in which the first three rows are exactly the same: th-cam.com/video/w5s9R-hT1is/w-d-xo.html I also have the written pattern available on Etsy and Ravelry: olgapoltava.etsy.com/listing/1285345121 www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/lacy-flowers-shawl I hope this helps!
