    I think this category is going to explode in popularity over the next decade like TW earbuds and smartwatches. I'm very excited about the Viture One design, the optional neckband with battery/wifi/CPU and Android TV seems like it adds another dimension of utility to the product. One of the overlooked problems right now is that these displays drain your phone battery very fast.

    Well done Juan. I have the Nreal Air and love them. When we had a child the wife made me remove the giant tv from our bedroom so I use these with my M1 iPad Pro and Air Pod Pro 2’s pretty much daily to watch content. One of my favorite pieces of new tech in a long time!

    I am excited to see where this goes, having a visual impairment I end up using large monitors with modification, also making smartphone use quite difficult, so if these glasses or something like this can bring the phone or PC screen closer to my face, yes I'll still need modification, but it might make the experience better and less backbreaking, I really hope I get to try one of these pairs of glasses one day

    • @SomeGadgetGuy
      @SomeGadgetGuy  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      It's a little early yet for me to feel comfortable recommending them for that kind of use. I hope to see the experience polished up a little better, and see improvements to how each handles power and charging the host device.
      I would SERIOUSLY keep an eye on this segment though. It's improved RADICALLY over the last couple years.

  • @Food4thought1234

    I have the Nreal. I almost returned them, but then figured out you can actually move the nose pieces to fit your face better. No one face is perfectly symmetric, but mine was way off more than I realized. No matter what I did I couldn’t see out the left eye clearly, and I have 20/20. I tried all the nose parts, and still no luck. When I was looking at options to return them, I finally thought to actually bend the nose piece, and come to find out they bend and stay. I FINALLY found that sweet spot. Granted it does put some pressure on my nose, but a small price to pay.
    Also, for some reason, the way the glasses hug your head, gives you a massive neck cramp. I can’t explain why this is caused, but also I play on my steam deck, so maybe its just tension from playing games.
    The color from Netflix on my IPad is weird tint color also. I makes it harder to see the screen, but you don’t notice it after a while.
    Also, I tried to contact customer service when I had an issue, ZERO response. I was luckily able to fix the issue, but lack of a response is very worrisome.
    All in all I don’t regret getting it,and use it everyday at work. I can’t wait until more option and future iterations come.

      It's a weird feeling right? EVERYONE I hand the combo to still sits and looks down, and scrunches up like they're playing on a gameboy.

    The Rokid seems like it might work better with Nintendo Switch, they have a very compact one adapter only solution. He didn't really say much about the screen position in the glasses, which is the most important consideration for me, because my eyes get tired looking up at a screen the whole time. The nreal have this adjustment, but it still doesn't go 'low' enough, I still feel like I am looking up at a screen the whole time so I have to buy each of the other glasses to test it. A shame, because this reviewer already has all three, but I don't have the information.

    I also have 3 different pairs of AR glasses like you but instead of the Rokid glasses, I have the Dream Glass Flow AR. The Dream Glass Flow is unique because it can do 3D and has a compact cloud module player that has memory storage and battery so you do not have to use your phone so you do not have to use up your phone battery. It also has a headphone jack on the glasses stem. It is also better for people who are near sighted because it has diopter adjustibility so you do not have to get special lens to attach to it. I wouldn't think so as they are only pushing 1080@30fps. Ideally suited for watching movies or other multimedia and some low refresh rate gaming. Any high end graphics visual editing etc I would be just guessing that they wouldn't suit due to the very low refresh rate. If they handled 1080@60, I'd definitely snap one up but im still on the fence as whether or not they are worth it now, or wait for the next gen stuff which won't be far away. It's cool seeing this stuff being tried, it's just lacking mass appeal _right now_. I do wonder if people who are sensitive (get nauseated) by VR goggles would also have an issue with something like this, as it interferes with your regular vision even if it's in a different way. I'd love to see something like these set up as a device that you can just cast an AV signal to vs a physical connection! IE: pull up this TH-cam video on your phone and cast it to your big screen glasses. That would be awesome.

      I can't speak to a macbook, but they worked great on a Windows laptop and on phone desktop modes. It's like looking at a NICE 1080p TV across a small bedroom. Probably don't want to LIVE in them, but SUPER handy when you can't pack and carry a LARGE monitor.

The rokid looks like a futuristic sunglass, and I want to look normal and not raise any eyebrows when wearing them in public. So am I going to get the nreal because of the higher display shown by him and the use of usb-c so i don't have to take with me a stupid another wire. sadly id doesn't have adjustable glasses but i will try to get the prescription lenses to put on the nreal with the frame it came with.

      Viture with the neckband accessory not only gives you a stand alone android devise with 128gb SD memory, but it allows you to have 2 pairs of glasses connected. I do not know why the Viture brand glasses were not in this comparison. IMO they are the best ones. They have more features, and are 3 times brighter at 1800 nims, they adjust for people that have prescription glasses, they have HK audio, and several other exclusive features .

    • @SomeGadgetGuy
      @SomeGadgetGuy  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      None yet, but prices are falling. You gotta think about how much a portable monitor costs. You can get a REAL cheap LCD for around $100. Is that the kind of experience you would want strapped to your face?
      But prices three years ago were MUCH higher (around $700 -ish) for a MUCH less sophisticated solution than what we have now around $400.
      Give it another year, and I bet you'd be able to find some great options on sale or used.
