I hope this will help you!! I found that when you use fsbric like towels and fabric for quilting, you cand use different stabilizers but try using wash out when you know something is going to be washed!!!
Hey Sam! I've run an embroidery/screen printing shop for the last 10 years. Running 20+ heads every day. This looks like a Tajima clone, which is good. If you dont have one, get a tensioning tool. You'll need it. Your digitizing will make a way bigger impact on the quality of your sew than your machine. For flats, the green hoops are good, but magnetic hoops are an absolute game changer. Mighty Hoop makes good ones, but there are good ones that are China clones. I think the company name was Sewtech. Big recommendation for magnets. Let's you hoop over seams, zippers, ect, consistent tension... If you're using Rayon thread, white can tend to break often. It's just a thing. A polyester thread is a little more robust. Saves you a lot of headache with thread breaks. Man. Theres so many things lol. I'm excited for you! Keep it up.
For digitizing yourself and your first time stitching one, that looks great! In the future, caps will work and stitch better if you digitize the design to stitch from the center out. GREAT video showcasing this machine! Best of luck in your new embroideryendeavors!
Nice job… we are three years into starting an embroidery business… I digiatize also ( I was a graphic designer for 27 years) we have been doing farmers markets weekly in our area
That is awesome! Do you use Hatch or another software? I am in a trial with Hatch but want to make sure I get the best & correct software to make my life easier! Buy once, cry once...
Ohhh neat. Especially since you showed it off as a new person. I looked into these about 3 years ago and just got lost in all the different models and types.
How is the the Smartstich S-1501 holding up. I'm considering one but I want to stich Richardson 112 hats and the internet says you need special stronger machines. Please advise
The lasers are very clean in their dust and fumes thanks to my extraction system. The CNC and any other traditional woodworking tools aren't, though. I'm considering moving them to the old workshop and letting it be a more dirty environment. Between the three main avenues (laser, CNC, embroidery) the CNC work has been the least active.
Great stuff Sam!!! I got a brother machine to tinker around with embroidery recently and its pretty fun as a hobbyist to use. Still figuring out if I would want to invest into a big machine like this. Thanks for the highlights. Can't wait to see what else you make!
Impressive!!! I’m drooling because my machine is a 6 needle. I often exceed (by far) 6 colors. That’s a lot of thread changes. I think my hubby’s in trouble! 😂😂. Congratulations on entering the addiction of embroidery and digitizing. What digitizing program do you use??
Great idea for you to add to your work shop. Looks fairly simple to operate. You should set the woods on fire with this machine. Should be having a lot of orders to come from it. Don't be whining when they come in and you find yourself inside while Ashley is outside playing with the boys. lol
Hi Sam - Just wondering if you settled on Hatch for digitizing or found a better program? I own a small t-shirt business and am looking at adding embroidery to my services. If you a digitizing program isn't purchased, are you stuck with only what has been pre-loaded on the machine? Also, Are you still happy with your embroidery machine - Any buyer's remorse? I appreciate any help/advice you can give - All the best!
I am contemplating this machine and I've bing-watched your videos, some several times. You provide so much good information. Have you done thick material yet, such as sweat shirt material?
Interesting. How long does it take to a hat similar to the one you did at the end? Does the color changing significantly take longer to complete?(like 2 or 3 colors)
The hat was done in about 10 minutes if memory serves me correctly. Color changes are automatic and very quick -- negligible on total run time per project really.
I just got your video. I wish you the best in your business adventures. I am a home embroiderer...not a business. I have enjoyed this for many years. Good luck. I look forward to traveling along with your business adventures.
