Thank you!! Wow, amazing early Slowdive. If you've got more tapes, please post them. I was in a suburb of Chicago and first heard them in 1991. I bought the blue Beach Song b/w Take Me Down flexi disc at a suburban record store in 1992. The story (as I heard) was Rachael gave those two demos to a fan who then asked permission to print up the flexi disc. Through tape trading I got a third demo "Love Me". Now that all this stuff is coming out of the woodwork it's fantastic to revisit and hear these early versions, and especially the rare ones. Keep 'em coming!

Thanks for this upload. A really important recordig and the earliest recording of slowdive available. I really doubt that this setlist is correct though. Track 3 sounds a lot more like the unreleased track Beach Song which is from the same CD as Take Me Down (Over). Side note: Please upload more recordings of slowdive if you have them. Means a lot!
Think you're right and have amemded the tracklisting (we didn't track it btw). Anyway I thought 'Take Me Down' was from a pre-Slowdive related band 'Eternal' who had a track of the same name on their amazing one and only 7" for Sarah Records, which you should check out here if you haven't already heard it. @@DOTHEMOOZIK Yes, you are right! The track is known as a cover originally from Christian Savill's band "Eternal", but Slowdive also recorded the song and released it on a CD, which only had the tracks "Beach Song" and "Take Me Down (Over)". Something rather interesting is that the two songs don't have a lot of similarities, at least in my opinion. I wonder if the song ACTUALLY was a cover or just two whole different songs, with the same name... Who knows!
@@ISawTheSun_Surely they are 2 different songs and as much as I love Slowdive, the Eternal one is better in my opinion.
