I’m so glad that you and your family are on the mend. Your videos have inspired me so much that I’m really delving into quilting. Your personality is like a breath of fresh air ( you make me laugh sometimes). Please stay well because as one of your fans, I can guarantee that are missed terribly when your not well. God bless you and the family.

Lovely machine❤ I have the Jazz 1 that I bought a few years ago. I love it. When I first got it I regretted it because it didn't have needle up/down like my smallee Brother machine. I too bought it for the amazing theought space. After sewing with it I did get use to the needle issue. Amazing how most of the time it stopped in the needle down anyway for me. I have had no issues with my machine. I did buy the metal bobbin cases and the seems not to "shake". I do always have the foot up when changing it and the lid seems to come on and off good for me. Jealous that you got the Jazz 2, if I didn't already have the Jazz 1 I would buy it. I mostly just use it for piecing, but I have even free motioned with it. Congratulations with you new machine.

I have a Jazz 2 also. Thank you for your honest review. I bought mine a little over a year ago. Once I learned how to wind the bobbin and thread it correctly, everything went smoothly. I love this machine. I have other machines as well. But Jazzy does what I need it to do! Enjoy your new machine!❤

My Babylock Allegro has many of the same characteristics. I had to return the first one because tension was off. I tried to sew on a folded table and the vibration was too much. I do love it though. I think to have the long throat and lots of stitches they compromised in other areas Happy sewing!

oh Jean. Like you said, every machine has it's sound, it's learning curve and always people who love and hate it. I look forward to seeing you quilt on it with that large throat space. That is great.
Glad Ian is feeling better, and dear Maxwell. And yes, you did look kinds tired in that video. I chalk it up to you always pushing thru.
I hope you continue to take care of yourself. Please keep us posted. LOVE TO THE TRUELOVES!!

I have a Jazz 2 as well and I love the sewing part of it. I have tried machine quilting on it and it didn’t work so well. I also had to move it to a heavier table to prevent the bouncing/moving/noise of the machine.
Happy to hear that everyone is doing better. I’m still praying for a safe and your world stays safe and you and family stay healthy.

I'm also glad that Ian is doing better he has to rest and not overdo...please take care.

I have been working with my industrial machine making bags but I am getting ready to switch out for the azz II. You are right about the light. SOOOOO much better than my industrial. My daughter-in-love wants a biscuit quilt. Wish me luck getting it done b4 Christmas lol. YES! the stitches are good and YES! it is a loud machine. Mine will bounce my table even with a mat so I put it on the kitchen table and much less noise as well as movement. Do another review after you do some free motion quilting on it. Learning curve on this machine is real as far as the tensions but it is a great machine once you learn what it is willing to do. ... P>S> beware backing up on thick fabric. It get out of time going backwards lol. I ust lift presser foot and back up manually like the old machines that didn't have it hahaha

You are using the wrong size bobbin.
There is a size 15 and size 15J.
You need the 15J, which is 1/32 taller.
I also have Janome, MC6650 and HD3000. It's specified on the original box.

My straight stitch singer 201 weighs about the same, it’s in a flatbed cabinet and I can treadle it or use a motor. It has a lot of harp space but not as much as your Jazz. ❤❤❤

I love my Babylock JazzII! Bobbin winding is funky. The machine is awesome.
But, I tried it on a frame and would NOT recommend. I made the attempt due to a 40+ year neck and shoulder injury that flares up way too much attempting to quilt on my domestic.
When it's time for frame work, just bite the bullet and get a quilting machine and a decent size frame.

My local baby lock dealer stopped selling the jazz 2 because of the issues. They told me that this machines internal system is a singer.
I have had my jazz 2 for 2 years I wasn't pleased with the stitch quality but thought I would get use to it. As time went on the stitch quality got worse. Tension issues got worse to the point that why bother if I'm wasting thread and time. It would not wind a good bobbin until I figured out if I run the thread around that 3rd pin then I get a beautiful bobbin. I finally took in to get it fixed. I was told they had to adjust the needle bar and there was a bur on the needle plate that they filed down. As far as noise, if I keep the presser foot pressure set at 1 it is much quieter. I'm keeping mine as I have not found another machine that has as large throat space for the price. After 6 weeks in the shop and $165.00 repair bill mine sews great. The light in the throat space also shorted out and got very hot that it would burn my hand if I bumped it. The light was also replaced. It's a shame that cheaper $100.00 machines has a better stitch quality than a baby lock.

I went to the store and look at the jazz II they had on display. It messed up right away, stiching was horrible etc. The salesperson couldnt even fix the issue with the stitching. It felt “cheap” to me, not the quality from a Babylock $1000 machine…it felt cheap but was not. The sound of it moving the needle sounded harsh, not the sweet sewing sounds of babylock, brothers and singers I am use to. I spent about an hour with the machine and decided to walk away from that sale. So glad I did! When I came home I looked at the reviews it was getting from others on social media and over 50% were negative. The last thing I wanted was a machine that had to have a lot of servicing. I dont want to spend my time running back and forth getting it fixed only to get it home and not fixed. Been there done that.🤨 I want to spend time creating something with ease…the more something causes trouble the less interest I have creating anything. Some people love their machine and have no issues and that is wonderful for them! I was given the impression from salesperson that several had been purchased, because of the sale, but several of those had been returned or sent to service center right out of box.

Almost all sewing machines are made in China.
Unfortunately, only the very high end machines are made in EU.

My Brother was probably the most fabulous machine I've ever had. However after 28,000,000 (yes 28 million according to the stitch counter) stitches, it finally gave up the ghost. I was told the motherboard is expensive and not really worth getting fixed. The stitch quality, which was superb, is now very bad. Its a shame. But I certainly go my monies worth!:)
