Did you learn something new? let me know down below in the comments!
Im not sure but if i recall correctly a brazier counts as near fire too
@@pikachun2160 yes there are a few different sources that give the 'fire' effect
@@SpazzyjonesGaming I did not know that animals could still be tamed after they become aggressive. This changes my entire world. I've been trying to grind sneaking for eons.
@@maxwellsimon4538 yessir! glad the video helped!
I like how you showed 64 meters, one can relate to it more easily than extrapolating corewood horizontal log multiplied.
Im glad you appreciated that! It definitely helps visualize just how far a distance 64 meters is in game!
Boars - decent in early game, afterwards only good for feeding wolves.
Wolves - if they are not starred, it's not worth the effort.
Lox - too much work
Chickens - Heck, yeah!
Chickens are definitely the best., their meat and eggs are ingredients in excellent foods!
@@SpazzyjonesGaming Tru dat! In my first shared world, I was the chicken man. I had four hatcheries running - three of them in troll caves.
@@nelsonhemstreet3568 in troll caves! Cool idea
Will the trolls not kill them? @@nelsonhemstreet3568
@@nelsonhemstreet3568Wait. Did you have chicken farm in a troll cave? 💀
i tamed yesterday a 2 star wolve and forgot to put the meat in... at day he didnt despawn but he didnt move or reakting to myself. next night he eat and everthing was fine :)
Interesting. did you have a workbench nearby maybe? i'm thinking maybe the workbench prevented the despawn. Good to know though!
@@SpazzyjonesGaming yes thats possible, i need the workbench to remove the "woodbrigdetrap"
yeah that make sense. I bet that was it!@@tobirudin918
Night wolves don't despawn immediately if the player is within the 64m zone. They will try to flee when it turns to day time but if they have no clear path (such as being in a pit) then they will stay there as long as the player stays within the zone. Once it turns to night the wolf will not try to flee and will be able to be fed and tamed as usual. If the player leaves the zone during the day before taming commenced then the wolf will simply despawn
@@Deezymeister really god comment. i'm going to pin this. Do you know if laying down a workbench near them prevents them from spawning as well or does the player have to be present?
Here’s a couple tips: Loxen are weird because they have the same pathfinding model as the troll. So they won’t be able to breed if you build them into an enclosed space that isn’t high enough for a troll, they can’t breed because it’s technically saying they’re model is clipped through the roof. Inversely, chickens will struggle to breed in fenced off fields, they are far more efficient when they are inside buildings.
Oh nice, I knew the first one but not the second. Thanks for sharing!
Uses the word 'inversely', but doesn't know the difference between 'they're' and 'their'. Amazing.
@@Tendonitis123 Bruh is fr gonna shit his pants because I made a singular spelling mistake. Too bad I don’t have someone with your stellar level of intellectualism, to proofread random comments I make on TH-cam videos.
@@Tendonitis123 grammar police!
Great videos, keep them up!
Thanks so much. I wilL!
Chicken are also "escapeartists", i have observed them gathering in corners and jump up on top of eachother, and the top one can then escape
yeah they sure are. I often keep them in closed rooms
@@SpazzyjonesGaming : 1 thing that worked well for me, was to have an open enclosure with high walls, out of reach of the fire, and a chicken coop that was roofed with a fire outside covering it and connected to the open part. That way some eggs get hatched and some stay cold, without me having to tend to them myself. Only to feed and harvest occasionally
@@Ulvehunden1970 inice thanks for sharing
I've seen boars do the same thing lol
Great video, solved a boar mystery for me with that anchoring fact!
Thanks dude. Appreciate you Sam!
@@SpazzyjonesGaming - they will try to return, but they will also mate and give offspring.
Their offspring isn't anchored, so just "harvest" the annoying pig when they have made enough starred piglets, and all is well. ;)
@@thomasr7129 spot on. yeah you got it. Once you have the offspring no more need for the original anchored piggy
I hope they update portals to allow tames through. It would help plenty
no luck so far :(
I will never forget how me and my buddied tried to tame a 2 star wolf, we dig a hole and left him there for the night with his food, next morning we had "tamed" stone golem in that pit
oh no! hahaha
I didn’t know wolves ate sausages. I had a two star wolf and had to wait for someone to bring me food and if I had known about the sausages I could have started taming immediately
yessir! The more you know!
I enjoy your every video ❤
Thanks so much! Glad you enjoy them. I will keep making them!
do you have to feed the tamed animals every now and then or only when they have taken damage?
also,.... do you need to tame a starred animal in order to get a starred baby? or can you get a normal one with the chance of getting a starred baby? @SpazzyjonesGaming
The tamed animals won't starve without food but they also won't heal if they aren't fed. Feed them and they will heal over time.
Yes, you need to tame starred versions to get starred babies. A pregnant 1 star always gives birth to a 1 star baby and a pregnant 2 star always gives birth to a 2 star baby
good video learned a lot. Can you make a video cowering all of the arrows in the game?
Glad you learned a lot! I could make an arrow but it would be a short one. What are you looking to learn?
@@SpazzyjonesGaming I would like to learn which of the arrows are better for each biome and which ones are worse. For example black forest, plains etcetera. Or owerall best and cheapest arrows to make in the game.
@@SpazzyjonesGaming I will wait for your short 😅
@@Elite_santa457 ill see what I can do haha
Ngl I hate how tamed animals can deal damage to your structures running into them when alerted to something. I made this really pretty Asksvin area from grausten walls and iron fences and it required maintenance every half an hour. Gave up and dug a hole, lol.
yeah digging a hole is a good strategy because they can't damage earth
My first boar in valheim was named like my brother 😂
thats hilarious. nice one!
I always wanted to tame boars when my boyfriend introduced me to the game.
I didn’t manage it I had no idea how to get them unalerted at the time ;-;
I hope you know now! GO tame yourself some boars!
@@SpazzyjonesGaming I learned awhile ago! My first tamed creature was lox tho lol, I didn’t concern myself with taming until way late game. Now I’ve got everything, my boyfriends so proud :3
@@simplycinclair8979 lovely! I too never bothered until very late game
good game good video
Hell yeah! thank you
I wish there was a horse-like mount that you could attack off
that would be a great addition. its a shame you can attack while Lox riding
There is a mod for horses. I tried it and did not like. First, you had to capture and tame it. Second, a tamed horse was very vulnerable to mob attack. Third, the terrain is seldom favorable for riding until you get to Plains.
@@nelsonhemstreet3568 oh cool they actually added a horse. I NEED to check out some of these mods
Can animals starve? I had a boar that i neglected and it died, and i hadnt had a raid or have the fence broken.😅
Now that im further ahead in the game i want ro try again.
No they can't starve. Was it tamed when it disappeared? An untamed creature could despawn I believe if you don't have a structure like a workbench nearby
@@SpazzyjonesGaming
I think they do starve to death if u don't feed them
I teamed boars twice and when I don't feed them for a long time they die
They need a lot of food and they don't give much in return??
@@a.hs.k5376 interesting. ive never heard of animals starving
@@a.hs.k5376 It is possible that Greydwarf Shaman used its poison attack throught the fence and killed your boar. Tamed animals can't starve to death.
Greydwarf Shaman's can attack tamed creatures through walls with their poison attack. That's how I learned to not put my animals close to the edge of my base walls
I tamed a lox two days ago and it died. Know i now it needed a house lol
RIP. A house definitely helps. Especially with raid events
Wolves no longer howl when tame? Huh I guess I never noticed that.
Its true! Functionally, it doesn't make much of a difference though
@@SpazzyjonesGaming - I swear I've seen cubs howl, tho...
@@thomasr7129 the cubs? perhaps!
the tamed cubs indeed howl, but i haven’t noticed adults doing the same
@@bronchiel good to know! A few people have said that now
Idk I love chickens so I watch this video
Chickens are A tier tameables
I tamed everything last playthru. Only thing I bothered with this time was chickens. We had a boar stone near our early game main base so we just hunted for what we needed. I dont find raids to be too difficult when they happen and they are less frequent than needing to always feed AND be in proximity. If I could go out adventuring and all the breeding was automatic so long as food was available I might reconsider.
@@stevebreedlove9760 fair enough. I like taming everything except boars. Boars I get little value from
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Stars on stars on stars!
Not really it's kinda useless for lox they'll just destroy your stuff. Two star wolves can't even damage me before I have them gone. Seen what they can do against mobs pretty sure it's been nerfed by now cause its taking more hits but they could be missing. I find it useless when you can fight your own battles. The wolves will be dead in seconds without food littered about. And finally ask are the only ones worth it now way stronger than the 2 star wolf ever was broken level's as they dunno what balance is. That's pretty clear. Since a fallen valkyries hitting for over 150 sometimes up to 250. It's practically impossible to deal with everyone I see runs or gets a cheat weapon I hate fighting them it's not fun its tediously annoying. But that's what they wanted obviously. Things more powerful than half the bosses yet is only a mini boss. That should of replaced the fader.
I respect your opinion
@@SpazzyjonesGaming even if you wanted to debit it a little don't blame you it's just what I've noticed.
@@apocrising2758 completely fair brother
Fair enough then
As an IT guy… You really should activate your copy of Windows. 😂
Never ! :p
I'll save any new players their time. Taming is not worth it at all, its just a gimmick.
I agree and disagree. I think there are benefits to doing it (especially for chickens) but the effort to set it up probably doesn't offset the benefits. That said, I think its going to be critical in the ashlands actually
It is not worth it at all. The food they produce is never top tier, you have to waste tons of time and food to even get the proper amount of animals, I could go on and on. What’s the benefit? Why fight a troll with my wolves and risk them dying when I can one shot a troll with whatever bow. They definitely don’t do enough damage to bosses and again they’ll die and you’ll have wasted tons of time/resources
Wolves are worth it for battle companions, lox are worth it for riding, and the eggs from hens are HUGE for really good food. Thats just my opinion though. Its that you disagree
Tame chickens. Skip the rest
@@ringofasho7721 chickens are most important i agree
Activate windows
Neva!
I just started taming after playing this game for 1000 hrs… it’s a huge advantage but it is devastating when they die 😭🤌
is it ever! Your poor little buddies
