@@cromisicko I think UFC already had started to produce promo-material for that fight. Crocop Vs. Couture might be one of the reasons UFC signed witv Crocop. Gonzaga was there to get headkicked as hype to a Randy-fight, but it all backfired. Funny when you think about it. Randy never got to fight any of these big fights. Both the fight with Crocoo and Fedor was close, but never materialised for reasons.
@@JohlorBJJ UFC dropped the ball handling some of the Pride legends coming into the UFC. Cro Cop should have been fast-tracked to the title fight with Randy Couture. Cro Cop was just coming off the biggest accomplishment of his career, winning the 2006 Pride World Openweight Grand Prix against Wanderlei Silva and Josh Barnett (again) on the same night. Winning that is equivalent to winning a Championship belt in my opinion, and although he may well have lost to The Natural there is no shame in losing to someone like Randy Couture. Especially in stark contrast to someone like Gabriel Gonzaga.
Same thing for Shogun Rua as well, he should have been fast-tracked to fight Rampage Jackson for the LHW belt in what could have been a Fight of the Year contender only to become an Upset of the Year victim to Forrest Griffon.
Where is Mirko CRO COP on the list. He had like 10. win streak in a row before stroke and leaving. Big mistake!

Sudo Genki was so entertaining to watch, he was one of my favorite fighters, still sad that he retired so early.
When I heard of his name, it sounded familiar, then I heard he did music, which hit me, "this is the guy from World Order!" Aww so cool. I heard of their music back in 6th grade with their unique choreography. Since this list, I've looked up a few of his fights and in his UFC fight where he flawlessly rolled into a rear naked choke was just a masterpiece. He may just be the First Stylebender lol

I really can't believe I had forgotten about Chris Lytle!! He was like the original Bonus King, before the Cerrone and Gaethje, who would fight basically anyone, anytime and always turning it into an amazing brawl. I'll have to go back and re-watch his best fights.
Just as today I was thinking Rocky the last movie where Paulie told him "the last round of your life" and I felt that. It's not the size of the dog in the fight but the size of the fight in the dog.

Crazy thing about GSP is that when he returned 4 years later to fight Bisping at middleweight he was only 190 pounds lol that's still welterweight size. He's clearly the goat for me. DC,DJ and Stipe,khabib behind him in my top 5.
Georges said he managed to get to 200+ by eating so much, which is how he got diverticulitis. He weighs 183 in the morning now (said so on Bisping’s podcast a few weeks ago) and there’s no way he was only 5-7 pounds bigger at UFC 217, he’s noticeably thinner now

Have you guys already done something like a "Top Ten Legendary Losing Performances"? I think that would be a great one. Covington's losing performance in his first fight against Usman comes to mind, as well as the obvious legendary TUF match between Bonar and Griffin. I can't remember some of the others, but I do remember there being times when there was only one victor, but there was two winners.

That man was so damm unique in every way, and the fact that people will say that folks like Adesanya and Anderson Silva were the best dancers in MMA without realizing that Sudo already topped them years or decades before is absurd.

Forrest Griffin, not the greatest fighter but he always made it a tough day at the office for his opponent (unless it was Silva)
I think a part 2 is needed, Mark Munoz won his last fight in his own country of the Philippines and it was also the only UFC event ever held there with Urijah Faber and Frankie Edgar headlining the card.
