Don’t count out Kentucky on this event…they’re losing three high scoring routines (Bunn, Worley, Patterson) but they’re gaining SKW and they have a lot of depth in freshmen and sophomores, plus Magnelli is returning. They already set their record high beam total last year and despite the losses college gym News said they have a shot at scoring even better this year.
It is always difficult to prognosticate these things. I think that you likely have chosen the top five correctly, but I think you might be a bit wrong on the order. I can't comment on all of the teams, but I feel compelled to say a couple of things about Utah. First we didn't lose Maile, she is just in a different role. She is already having a huge impact on these gymnasts. Yes, Abby is gone, but as amazing as she is, she will not leave a hole in the line up just in our hearts. You mention Ella and Ashley as if they are kinda okay, but no big deal. Ella is nervous and concerned about her routine, but she will calm down. As one who has seen it performed flawlessly several times, I can attest that it is amazing! Ashley was a consistent beemer at Temple as a Freshman, and yes she was recruited as a vaulter, but her artistic ability and dance background could really shine. But where I really think you have missed the mark is in you undervaluing Avery. Maybe you didn't hear but she received the highest recruit rankings of any recruit ever. Yeah, she had a subpar performance on Beam at the Liukin (which Elle tied), but that was an aberration. And Kailyn beat her at Natty's. Knowing Avery, both of these things are fuel. When it comes to competition, Avery is fierce, and she eats pressure for breakfast! When so many beam routines look "cookie cutter," twisting out wolf turns (sorry Grace), Aves has brought back the Shushunova, yeah not a terribly hard skill, but already a crowd pleaser. Anyway, if the RedRocks end up any lower than 3rd on beam NQS,. I will be sad and shocked, but I don't see that happening. One final thought: so sad that we will not see the amazing battle of Maile and Ragan for the most 10.0 this year.
If McCusker is consistent this might be the year Florida surpasses Oklahoma on beam with five 9.9+ NQS returning + McCusker not to mention possibly Blakely too. Oklahoma on the other hand is losing smith and their freshman class is not as strong on beam as they are on vault/bars
and actually watching the video over again I'm more convinced about this because I forgot about Harris joining Florida too which gives them 6 9.9+ NQS returners actually. So the best case lineup for Florida is probably something like Lazzari Skye McCusker Pilgrim Harris Wong with Sloane and Nguyen as 9.9+ NQS backups... Meanwhile Oklahoma's final three (Davis Bowers Torrez) are on par with Pilgrim/Harris/Wong, but the front half is less convincing...I guess it would be Mueller Wells Fatta... I don't love the acro series from Mueller or the leaps from Pederson or Slade. Siegfeldt would need to show a big step up in consistency to be a lineup regular.
Don't be surprised if Utah actually ends up being #2 or even #1 in the country. Yes, Utah lost 2 amazing gymnasts, but Utah is traditionally a beam-team. Their beam coaches have always shaped beautiful and technically correct beamers.
Grace McCallum is not letting anyone forget about the triple and double wolf turn 😅😅
Well, she is the most consistent at it 😅
I hope Amari will be in lsu’s lineup bc she has some beautiful lines and she could score very well

Konnor being back on bars and beam, huge asset for LSU, she’s a 9.95 plus score every time.
Florida beam RILEY, LEANNE, SLOANE, VICTORIA, ELLE, ANYA, SELENA i want them to stick their beam coz they have the difficulty
11:31 KONNOR McCLAIN is so beautiful to watch on beam. So light, graceful, full of amplitude, flexibility and killer toe point! 🤸♂️❤️

I’m predicting UCLA will be top 5 on beam and I’m also predicting outside of floor it will be there best event this year!

Kayla dicello is not a beamer? I thought she was good for the lineup but I don't remember how she was freshman year.. So ok
Shes had another surgery and is out :(
@lurking__lurker omg didn't know. Thank you
