i love that you compared and recognized the similarities between jordan and kayla when i read what you wrote for kayla i thought it sounded a lot like what jordan brings to the table and you read my mind exactly lol

Poor Skye tore her achilles. I had as a 4th or 5th spot and a potential "setup" (hit clean and start the rotation strong.) spot. With that in mind, I have Simone, Shi, Suni, Jade, and either Jordan or Leanne. I have Jade and Suni as 2 "specialist" (Suni for BB and UB and Jade for VT and F.) If Leanne gets her Cheng in order she might just edge out Jordan, but Jordan has blossomed so much after the last Olympics. It's gonna be tough decided the last 2 spots.

well, skye seems to be no longer in the conversation after having to be wheeled out from podium after a fall while doing her last pass on floor. It`s super sad because she was doing great.

As of now I’m thinking Biles, Jones, and then Suni for scoring potential on 2 events. The benchmark is probably that she can outscore Biles on bars and beam. Because they’ll be concerned about Suni’s health and Jone’s shoulder, the other two may need to be all arounders. I’m not sure I see obvious medal winners (not just contenders) for additional specialists.

If no injuries or illness and they stay consistent and nerves are in check my predictions are :Simone Biles, Shilese Jones,Jordan Chiles, Suni Lee, Skye Blakely and alternate: Jade Cary (Dream Team)

My team is very similar to yours. I would say Team USA most likely would want to increase their chances to secure as many medals as possible. Because of this, I don’t have Kayla on my team. I would have: Simone, Shilese, Skye, Suni, and Jade. During Qualifications I would put Simone, Shilese, and Skye in the AA and have Suni do UB/BB and Jade do VT/FX. For this team, I think there is a case for team USA to earn 11/11 medals. I don’t think Kayla or Jordan would be able to medal even if they made EF, but Jade has a higher chance to do so. For some reason though I think team USA is pushing Kayla to be at the Olympics. Her scores have been pretty generous and there’s a lot of buzz around her. So I wouldn’t be surprised if she made the team.

Great analysis and breakdown. The only other person I see competing for this team is Kaliya Lincoln if she scores second highest on floor both nights of Trials. It was a real bummer we didn't get to see her nationals

I really really would like to see Kayla Dicello on this team. She’s very strong competitor and was an alternative from Tokyo. I believe it’s her turn. I think Suni’s spot totally depends on her health and is not a lock. There’s real concern there and her confidence needs to be there also.

I’m thinking Jordan or Jade will be top contenders - their experience level with having been to the Olympics already is valuable

Team is down to One spot and it Looks Like they could USE a Floor/ Vault specialist! Jades floor scores have been average however Upgrades happening to last 2 floor passes and she has a fantastic Cheng #teamJade

I don't think they're competing for a 5th spot tho. They need someone strong on vault and floor in particular. Skye has a cheng now but that's all she has on vault. Jade has a cheng AND an amanar, which means Skye gets 2 per country-ed out. Basically when Jade shows up with her amanar and her fx upgrades, everyone but Simone and Shilese will get 2 per country'ed out on both vault and floor. They need Jade.

Biles, Jade, Jordan, Shilese and Skye are the most prepared and the safest team to win gold.

Honestly if Kayla only will compete on floor, Kaliya probably fits better for the team since she has more potential for an event final even a medal.

i think suni's bars with upgrades (6.4+ D) could outscore simone in paris during qualifications and get her to the event final. i don't think she'll necessarily land on the podium unless something goes horribly wrong but i think suni has a good shot at the event final for bars, just the risk of 2pc

Disagree on spot number 5. I believe Jade has the experience and with her upgrades also the score potential to receive that spot. Agree on Spot 1 and 2. For spots 3 and 4: if Skye can remain consistent she should be on the team and if Suni can stay well and upgrade, she should as well. Jordan and Kayla can take the spots away if they prove to be better at the trials, still, it is always a gamble as we all know.

Id be very worry to have both Skye & Kayla on that team. I’d pick Jordan over Kayla for consistency. But I have a feeling Jade will come to trial all fire blading with upgrades and be undeniable

I wish they would let Jocelyn's technique get stronger before they pushed the difficulty... I know they did it to give her a shot at the team but... I think it's unlikely she makes it and I hope they give her time. She is already great and could be an amazing gymnast.

I'm personally still seeing Jade in the last slot as she has a lot more difficulty to bring and am unsure about Skye maintaining her performance throughout trials and the Olympics due to how things have been for multiple Worlds, but I still think you make some really great points.
