That thick bar is outrageous. Definitely add a couple extra points for that lol.
definitely deserves a redo on that bar
The hanging challenge was *definitely* not meant to be done on such a thick slippery bar haha! Wouldn't be surprised if you could get 5-6 minutes on a smaller bar with grip tape.
thick bar is much harder!
It would actually be great to see someone (especially who isn't a route climber) actually test it out and try climbing an 8c (or their grade) to see how it is!
Dude, you make me happy. Really nice vibes on your videos!
"And im bored already, this is why i boulder" deadpan
Really entertaining. Lovely how you manage to make such a fun video of a "boring" test. Well, and congrats to the impressive result (with can't train that much 🤣).
I would actually watch you climb 8c, Louis
You're so entertaining and no matter on which youtube video, when I see you in the thumbnail, I click on it 😂
Nice! Good video, great strength!
So strong Louis! Also, hats off for crediting the right people!!! Instead of just calling it "Magnus' strength test" 🤦♀️
^this
It's kinda hilarious cos you're an absolute monster but you sound like such a nice guy at the same time 🤣
Not that the two are mutually exclusive, but it's a joy to watch. Thanks for the vids Louis
There’s space for two of us on this bar - the best pick up line ever 😃
I love the casual counting while hanging at my max effort finger hang. "I think that was 5 seconds"
I have to try too ! 😁
Nice content!! Thanks for the insight of how crazy your fingerstrength is :D
Right? Every time I start to feel like my fingers are getting really strong I see something like this and realize how far I have to go haha.
damn your fingerstrength ist brutal
Louis would surely destroy 8c if he put his mind to it! Amazing effort!
Just picked like the thickest bar there is for the endurance hang. As if it ain’t hard enough😂🥴🥵
How do you think this compares with Lattice you did a few years back? It's a fairly simple test and really, only one climbing specific exercise, but it still gave you a very similar sport grade (8b+ to 8c).
He can barely squat the weight he can hang of fingertips with, that's insane to me!
Having the weight dangling from your waist makes it very awkward to get upright. Also walking is tricky. Just did the same test 2 days ago and I have video of my self trying to walk with 100%of my body weight. Looks absolutely ridiculous. Hanging is not that bad.
Interesting to see the pressure in the lower back when at max weights. When I did he test large weights pulling in SI joint did not feel great so I wonder if you can adapt the test to one arm either with a mini counter-balance pulley or similar?
So the first test is holding up yourself, and enormous iron balls. On a very thin edge, by your fingertips. 👏👏👏👏👏
were those kettle bells resting on the mat a little?
You gotta use a standard bar...
This is all the more impressive (and entertaining) because he looks so unassuming lol
So impressive! Yes, could probably add 5 seconds to the front lever by removing shoes.
Wow a front lever WITH shoes??? THEY SAID IT COULDN’T BE DONE
Hi. Where can I fint this test in detail ?
That bar is really thick to hang from makes it more difficult i reckon
30 sec front lever is insane! That is about 50% less from the world record
Check out the Stefano Ghisolfi score!
Hanging from a thicker bar is harder!
8C! Really expected nothing less from Louis 👌😊
Louis prediction: Ill get 8A
Me, knowing I got 8A+ whilst my project grade right now is 7C: haha sure Louis, might as well get 6B
You forgot to tell us what you’re actually leadclimbing grade is ;)
On average you were hanging 1-2 seconds more than you needed on the fingerboard 💪💪💪
Off screen timing was correct. Counting from 1-5 is only four seconds so they did it correctly. PS I can See a Mt Diablo from here.
I know Louis does weighted one arms interesting how it doesn't translate to weighted regular pullups
Yup, doing one armer pull-ups doesn’t mean double bodyweight pull-ups and double bodyweight pull-ups doesn’t mean one armers, though will say after working one arm pull-ups is much easier to add weight to pull-ups quite reliably because the body becomes accustomed to the intensity.
Indeed… i have seen people doing onearmers and not being able to do 170 % bodyweight pullups. Which is normally de point where you can do a onearmer.
is it louis child ?
Try new challenge 10 A
Louis weighs 63kg? That's insanely low for how tall he is. I am only 1m73 and weigh 67kg, and I'm not the widest chad around and not the smallest but fairly skinny.
I might look tall in videos, but I’m actually only 170cm! 😂
Louis
@@CatalystClimbing How easily you handle big moves makes you look taller ;)
Is the test not invented by magnus?
No. He just did it and put it online first
really weights 65 kg?? I wouldn't have said that. How tall are you? I would have given you less kg
really this thing seemed very strange to me. Magnus is 173cm tall and weighs 68kg and it looks way more "bulky". Usually lean climbers like you stay between 55 - 60 kg. IDK.
Poor front lever Louis!
