    That thick bar is outrageous. Definitely add a couple extra points for that lol.

      definitely deserves a redo on that bar

    The hanging challenge was *definitely* not meant to be done on such a thick slippery bar haha! Wouldn't be surprised if you could get 5-6 minutes on a smaller bar with grip tape.

  • @itzjoek
    @itzjoek 2 ปีที่แล้ว +23

    thick bar is much harder!

    It would actually be great to see someone (especially who isn't a route climber) actually test it out and try climbing an 8c (or their grade) to see how it is!

    @algorerhythm2751 2 ปีที่แล้ว +13

    How do you think this compares with Lattice you did a few years back? It's a fairly simple test and really, only one climbing specific exercise, but it still gave you a very similar sport grade (8b+ to 8c).

  • @TheMateyl
    @TheMateyl 2 ปีที่แล้ว +30

    He can barely squat the weight he can hang of fingertips with, that's insane to me!

    • @Bobonautti
      @Bobonautti 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Having the weight dangling from your waist makes it very awkward to get upright. Also walking is tricky. Just did the same test 2 days ago and I have video of my self trying to walk with 100%of my body weight. Looks absolutely ridiculous. Hanging is not that bad.

  • @duncanmccallum3688
    @duncanmccallum3688 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Interesting to see the pressure in the lower back when at max weights. When I did he test large weights pulling in SI joint did not feel great so I wonder if you can adapt the test to one arm either with a mini counter-balance pulley or similar?

  • @johnchiang7532
    @johnchiang7532 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    So the first test is holding up yourself, and enormous iron balls. On a very thin edge, by your fingertips. 👏👏👏👏👏

      @WhiskyMystery 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Off screen timing was correct. Counting from 1-5 is only four seconds so they did it correctly. PS I can See a Mt Diablo from here.

    I know Louis does weighted one arms interesting how it doesn't translate to weighted regular pullups

    • @zacharylaschober
      @zacharylaschober 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yup, doing one armer pull-ups doesn’t mean double bodyweight pull-ups and double bodyweight pull-ups doesn’t mean one armers, though will say after working one arm pull-ups is much easier to add weight to pull-ups quite reliably because the body becomes accustomed to the intensity.

    • @karlderdelinckx
      @karlderdelinckx 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Indeed… i have seen people doing onearmers and not being able to do 170 % bodyweight pullups. Which is normally de point where you can do a onearmer.

    Louis weighs 63kg? That's insanely low for how tall he is. I am only 1m73 and weigh 67kg, and I'm not the widest chad around and not the smallest but fairly skinny.

  • @Alex-xi8ep

    really weights 65 kg?? I wouldn't have said that. How tall are you? I would have given you less kg

    • @Alex-xi8ep
      @Alex-xi8ep 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      really this thing seemed very strange to me. Magnus is 173cm tall and weighs 68kg and it looks way more "bulky". Usually lean climbers like you stay between 55 - 60 kg. IDK.
