    Mikuni's really bring out the potential of big-bore kits.. Awsome job (on lockdown in NZ, covid19)

    Gotta say that is a nice looking ride man. It looks and sounds really nice. I had a 650 special II back in '82 and loved that bike. More than big enough to travel from Seattle to Tucson and back. Now that I am nearing retirement would love to do a build like this for around town. Again, well done.

    Hey nielsean, to me it is worth it 🏍
    The bike runs totally different versus the 750cc.
    Plenty power overall the rpm.
    Especially from lower regions up.

    Jan

    I've put more than 70 XS650s back on the road, had a Kenny Roberts replica put together by Shell Tuet and a shop in Ohio, Champion frame etc. scared the H E LL out of me. I just can't listen to your bike enough times to satisfy me and looking at it, it's just eye candy. The 650 Societies founder Jim Griner awarded me with a plaque, Certified XS650 NUT. I can't get enough of this bike. Is it for sale ? Would $18000 buy it ? Thanks for sharing DonebySunday

    • @janquequin9928
      @janquequin9928  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      @UMK3HumanSmokeUMK3 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Did you have to cut and relocate the shock mounts? Or did you you just cut the top tubes bend them and just reweld? Thanks if you have a write up on the process that would be great thanks a lot

    Jan, not trying to sound nosy, but how much did it cost you to have your bike bored out? Part vs. Labor? Or how many shop hours were involved. I was thinking about picking up a classic 650 and if it seemed under powered I was curious as to how much it might be to get some more mussel even if I just intend it for a cruiser so I could keep up with my sons electra gluide.

      @janquequin9928  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Michael
      First Thx for viewing my bike. 😁
      The complete engine maken over to 750cc cost around 3000€ of you have a donor engine.
      This includes the complete 750 piston and cylinder kit.
      Two Dell orto carbs and a total refurbished engine cranck and gearbox.
      This engine will kill any electra in a sprint 😁😁😁
      The dutch xs goeroe "heiden tuning" did the job for me

      I had a local engine shop bore out/hone my engine to 706cc for 160$, new pistons/rings for 135$ shipped from Japan. Engine dissasembly and assembly mostly my myself with a friend. New gasket kit about 100$
