    Just got a 2011 is250 and the wife is complaining about the breaks not being the best. Took it for a test drive and it can definitely get more stopping power for sure. Gonna go the same route too. Thanks for the video and the details.

      this is affordable and easy upgrade for IS250 especially if it is rotor and pad time too. Millions of rotor options out there now for the 350.

      Tuner with Kids how does it feel now? Does it stop better? How’s the petal feel?

    • @TunerwithKids
      @TunerwithKids  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don’t know since I really did this DIY to show the process. I have not had IS250 brakes for 11 years. I recently upgraded the IS350 to GS350 14” F-Sport brakes. More for aesthetics as the 350 is more than needed. It will reduce fade and provide a much firmer pedal and feel especially for the spirited brakers.

    Love the way that you recorded this with a second camera looking from under the car.
    Beware that there are shims between the caliper and the aluminum knuckle. They tend to stick to the caliper when separated, but may also fall onto the ground.

    Hi...I am from Malaysia. May i know what is the size (diameter) of the IS350 rotor?
    I just upgraded my Malaysia's version Toyota Camry XV50 stock front brake to bbk, using Advics caliper maybe from Lexus GS350 or IS350 (i guess, not really sure because it is an imported used one) with 355 mm rotor, and the rotor is really heavy compared to the stock rotor...

    Just bought a 2014 is 250 , the braking is crappy I’m coming from a g37 sport with big brakes, I was thinking of doing this upgrade but adding 20lbs to each front wheel and maybe 15 to rears , plus I want to upgrade to 19 wheels =more weight to wheels for a already slow is250 I dunno 🤷‍♂️ nevemind

    • @TunerwithKids
      @TunerwithKids  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s only a 7lbs difference per front corner to go IS350 BBK. The rotors are 10lbs more but IS350 aluminum calipers are 3 lbs less than IS25” cast iron.

    • @TunerwithKids
      @TunerwithKids  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Also, rears don’t need upgrade. I think rear might be same 12.2 vented on all 3IS (Fsport). Base model has 11.7 solid. Not worth the upgrade unless you can get it free.

    • @peterock9682
      @peterock9682 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ok my bad for some reason I took the 350 calipers to be 9lb heavier, and I read that the rears are different a bit bigger and thicker rotor , some people were saying u can upgrade the fronts and leave the rears some said it could be dangerous.

    • @TunerwithKids
      @TunerwithKids  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Naw...rears don’t do any rear stopping. It uses the same pads between the 12.2 and 11.7 with a slightly wider caliper and different bracket. The bigger rotors are vented vs solid. But overall no rear world difference.

If your hub is not perfect (runout bigger than 0.02mm) try positioning the disc another way and measure again..maybe you will be able to compensate both runouts hub/disc and stay

    Hey Tuner with kids, I recently bought rwd Lexus is350 calipers for my 2006 rwd Lexus is250. I was wondering if I can keep the stock is250 rear calipers and rotors with the front upgraded to the is350 rotors and calipers? Also if that works, am I able to put the rear Is350 rotors with is250 calipers in the back or will they have to be is250 rotor and caliper?

      You’ll be fine with 250 rear. To upgrade you need new rear 350 rotors and calipers. They use same pad though.

      @@TunerwithKids Ok thank you, that helps me a lot. One more thing if you don’t me asking, I found a good deal on a four pack of is350 rotors for the front and back but I was wondering if my 250 rear caliper will fit the rear 350 rotor?

      No they don’t fit. The 350 are bigger.

    Cardone 2 PCS Front Left & Right Disc Brake Calipers For 2006-2007 Lexus GS430 Will work on an IS250 2014 Base Model? I put my vehicle on eBay and it says not compatible, but When I put 2014 IS350 it says compatible. Any help? Thanks!

      Yea it will fit. All 13.1 monoblock brake calipers from 06 to present are the same. It said not compatible probably cause you put 250. Since you are upgrading to 350, need to assume you have a 350.

      Tuner with Kids okay so I found my nearest junkyard has a Lexus GS350. Will I be able to use those if I take them out?

      Yea. As long as it has the Advic monoblock calipers still on it.

    I have the OEM 17 inch wheels. I read on a forum that the IS350 calipers would not clear with the 17 inch wheels.. Is this true? Do I need at least 18 inch wheels to clear? Thanks.

      The OEM 17 for IS fit. Like the ones that come with AWD and others. Aftermarket 17 will be hit or miss due to the disk height.
