Done a 3/1 for a wile and we all split 25% the hoddy earnt every penny. Bricklayers think they are special for some strange reason

Nice to see some care in the work. I'm currently helping to restore the concrete mural that's outside Sainsbury's in Town Hall Square. Someone (before us) had made a right mess of repointing the bricks, I think they flicked a load of cement at the cracks and walked away.

Hi Ben just a quick question I'm a bricklayer in Guernsey Channel Islands and we use a lot of concrete 6 x 4 6 x 9 bricks do you use many of them in the UK to build houses or do you just use standard London bricks
@@Theoldbricklayer thanks Ben it must make work a lot easier in some ways because you can lay more bricks a bit more faster than we can obviously. But as you may know we're also deal with a lot of Guernsey blue granite on a lot of houses over here. I'm currently working in a house that was built in 1786 and there is a lot of granite coins as we have to try and keep it as original as possible but it's been turned into flats so there's only a couple of brick walls going up. If only I could show you photos it's a lovely place.

I was at that college south borough St John’s rd didn’t go in that pub all the tutors were in there I was there 1976 to 1977 great college Derek hook hook was our tutor and very good never forgot it one of the best times of my life 👌
I didn’t go to college I got my dad to train me and got a blue nvq via the back door . Was driving the telehandler when the assessor turned up he made me lay 1 block and that was it 😂

Think I worked in Windsor with him and while I was working for a builder from Eton Wick 35 years ago!
