For us diy-ers I really appreciate you taking long film sections so we can study how you apply the muck, what stiffness mortar you use and the finishing technique. Enjoying the chat as well. Many thanks
Your work always looks fantastic Ben. Glad that you had a great teacher like the old legend. Love your videos mate. Keeping me cheered up through a rough time. They mean a lot . Thank you
Loving the old brickie stories, from yesteryear. That one he told was definitely tales of the unexpected. Looking forward to the next installment. Great pointing work ben.
Another great video guy's thanks for the little tips, yes really want to hear more stories from the old bricklayer 😊, must have hundreds lol great work guy's, bring on tomorrow.
I've heard that off all the old timers and the stories of the bucket handles. I do love a good old story from the old boys kicking around full of knowledge and experience and i know it as half round.
Aside from all the jokes, what you see here is how trades used to be passed on. How the job is done, giving of confidence, how to deal with customers. This went on for centuries. Sadly it’s lacking today and it’s great to see it happening here, I’d love to see it come back everywhere!
Looks excellent 👍👍 As for clients I had to take one to court for the third installment £248,000 on his new build. Nearly sent me to the wall, glad I had £ squirreled away.
It's funny listening to the old BL telling the story of being knocked, every builder has a story or few similar. We see and hear plenty of stories of cowboy builders but for every one of them there's a rogue customer
Great job again looks lovely. If I ever have any brickwork to do on my caravan will definitely give you guys a call 😂😂. Joking aside your work always looks great. Ps. Haven't seen the old man do anything such he learnt how to use the camera....😅
You make it look so easy so much so that as a complete beginner, I tried to repoint and repair small red brick garden wall and just couldn't manage to keep the bricks clean. Couldn't get the mortar mix right, either too runny or too dry. Handling trowel was really difficult with mortar over the place. It's a true art form and must take years to get as good as you. Could do with some training from the old brickie!
Hi that is a great job done by yourselves I must take my hat off to you both. Have done some pointing myself but doesn't look like your job. I have just one question what sand/cement mix do you use on your pointing jobs. Keep up with the vids.

Story time with the Old Bricklayer 😂 can't beat it!
We always called that type of pointing " Bucket handle /Jointing". As we used the handles of the old metal buckets. Still got mind and I'm 75 😂😅😂😅
Still called that today easiest and quickest and cheapest to do

Catching up on your videos, you should do a live video or just a video with you and old bricky sharing for stories.
Will be doing a live soon maybe in a week or so
The one thing that does vary a lot with bricklayers I have found is the mix you use. What mix is your mortar chaps ?
