I brought the 8 track tape with me to work and kept it in my desk. When I saw her again about 2 months later I told her I have the 8 track with me. I had her autograph it. She was the nicest lady. I love her and sisters Debbie, Joni, Kim and Carol. Love me some Kathy Sledge. Her unique vocals are always there.

A great memory. I’ve met many, many black stars and acts (thanks to being on the road with The Supremes for 12 years) and I vividly remember how nice and friendly Kathy was. I saw her with her sister early in their career when the first came to England as part of a package tour with the Jimmy Castor Bunch and Rufus & Carla Thomas. Sister Sledge had just signed to Atlantic and released ‘Love, Don’t You Go Through No Changes’.
