- I've had this Dutch (rental) VHS tape of "An evening with Sister Sledge" for years. And I thought, since it's not out on dvd, and not on youtube I decided to clean up the video files. Worked out quite wel I think!! Hope you will like it!! (This is for enjoyment purpuses only, no money will be made from this)
The lead looking like Phllycia Rashad hairstyle and all. This was a phenomenal performance and that band is getting back. Pretty ladies❤❤❤

This is the first time I have seen this although I was working with the girsl during this period. I was on the recording side of this show. Yup the Ladies are true entertainers in every sense of the word. I always feel sad about Jonis passing she was such a sweet heart RIP peace sweet Joni.

Great performance from a very talented family. Please take note of their very tight harmonies! I had the opportunity to see them live when I was in high. They were touring with Shalamar at the time. The show was amazing as you can see by this clip.

Kathy, at the 4:22 point wanted the audience to raise their hands. Afterwards, at the 4:25, 4:26, 4:27, and 4:28 points, the audience looked like a bunch of "L7" squares. Hardly any of them cooperated.

Timeless....but also a bit saddening. Why? Well, besides the fact that pure talent, warmth, and energy (without vulgarity) is an endangered species, I see something else here. Perhaps you missed it. You see, there was no racism on display here. Nobody was looking for division, but rather unity. We were simply human beings sharing a common destiny. We were family. When the sisters went into the crowd, you could see and feel the reciprocal love and respect. We had made major strides by the mid-80's in fulfilling MLK's dream. I was there. We hadn't made it yet, mind you, but we could see the mountaintop. Look what we've now become.....
