Wow! Thats a game changer and something I had not even thought of. It makes these batterries an even better deal.

“Knowing the fuse is inside the battery, an MRBF post-top fuse holder can now be safely used. Thus, the entire system is protected via the internal fuse, and the wire off the battery is protected by an appropriately sized MRBF on the positive terminal”
which brand / model of the MRBF post-top fuse holder would you recommend and what size fuse fit one a 4/0 wire ?

Can you tear down the Epoch 48v marine battery? I’d love to see if that has an internal class T fuse also. And maybe test that 48v battery also.

Is this a 4S2P or 2P4S? Either way if the balancer is passive it may not be able to control balance in rather short order...

impressive. at 500A and 50k AIC, if that fuse blows...something has gone really wrong! It does make for installation ease and safety, especially if the fuse lugs can accommodate a more standard class T fuse as a replacement (after the cause of the blown fuse is remedied!!!!)
I am looking forward to the full review (what cells, BMS features and configurability , documentation shortfalls/kudos, communication physical and configuration challenges, etc, etc). Allen Jones's videos have already shown that the CANbus cabling isn't standard--hydra cable and special undocumented hydra-slave battery cable instead of something like a daisy chain (the other Epoch battery series uses this) which is N2k-like.
Let's hope that batteries like this are becoming the norm. They shouldn't be "drop in" but they should meet the safety standards when properly installed.

It’s looks different than the current 460 sold on the Epoch website.

That's awesome! I agree the batteries are impressive, but it seams epoch doesn't know that much about them.
